20131212 BrightTALK: design and data scienceDean Malmgren
When you hear someone say, “that is a nice infographic” or “check out this sweet dashboard,” many people infer that they are “well-designed.” Creating accessible (or for the cynical, “pretty”) content is only part of what makes good design powerful. The human-centered design process is geared toward solving specific problems. This process has been formalized in many ways (e.g., IDEO’s Human Centered Design, Marc Hassenzahl’s User Experience Design, or Braden Kowitz’s Story-Centered Design), but the basic idea is that you have to explore the breadth of the possible before you can isolate truly innovative ideas. In this talk, I'll share some lessons we've learned from the human-centered design process and how those lessons can be used by other data science practitioners.
Buckingham U. Badger is the full name of Bucky the Badger. Marching band members at UW-Madison wear their caps backwards based on a tradition starting in the 1920s where they did so after a football victory to look back at their win. Camp Randall Stadium was previously used as a training ground for 70,000 soldiers during the Civil War. One in 790 people have at least one degree from UW-Madison. Joan Cusack is a 1984 graduate and supporting actress in Gross Pointe Blank.
This document provides guidance on how to defend corporate data on endpoints in complex environments. It discusses four main threats: data sprawl, wrong data in the wrong hands, litigation and compliance issues, and lost, stolen or damaged devices. For each threat, it outlines strategies to survive scenarios that put data at risk when employees work from various locations using multiple devices. These strategies include capturing data from all devices, controlling access and activity through policies, gathering data for legal cases, and locating lost data or devices to prevent breaches. The document aims to help readers securely manage corporate data across diverse mobile workforces.
Integrated developer environments and code editors that make use of the Tooling API, like the Developer Console and MavensMate, have made Apex and Visualforce development and deployment quick and easy. However, if you already have a preferred IDE or editor, how can you take advantage of the efficiency of the Tooling API? Join us as we demo an open source utility that maps actions of the Tooling API to filesystem actions by integrating the Tooling API with a custom NFS server. You'll see how you can mount your metadata on your local machine so you can treat it like any other file-- including existing Apex classes, Visualforce pages, Lightning bundles, Metadata containers for editing, deploying, and checking code, and log files. You'll see how to manipulate the data in your org using standard filesystem commands (ls, cp, rm, mkdir, etc.).

Big Design 2012 - Guerrilla Design & Research Methods WorkshopRuss U
The document discusses guerrilla research methods as faster, less rigorous, and less expensive alternatives to traditional research. It provides examples of guerrilla methods like rapid iterative prototyping, A/B testing, remote usability testing, and design studios. The latter part of the document demonstrates a design studio workshop for testing a hotel check-in/check-out system, with activities like creating personas, tasks, testing with volunteers, and compiling findings. Overall, the document advocates that guerrilla research methods can provide sufficient insights for decision making when time or budgets are limited.

models tridimensionals on es poden fer no només figures, sinó caps i figures
humanes amb gran detall.
Per
exemple:
-Videojocs
-Internet
-Multimèdia
5. • Segons Manovich:
LLOCS WEB VIDEO DIGITAL
MÓNS VIRTUALS INSTAL·LACIONS INTERACTIVES
REALITAT VIRTUAL ANIMACIÓ PER ORDINADOR
MULTIMÈDIA CINE
VIDEOJOCS INTERFÍCIES ENTRE L’HOME I L’ORDINADOR
convencions i les principals formes dels nous mitjans.
• OBJECTE: Seria la creació d’un procés informàtic i digital. Per
informàtic i la cultura.
• REPRESENTACIÓ: Simbolitza el funcionament dels objectes
culturals.
Aquestes agrupacions formen altres objectes
més grans, però dividits.
Per exemple: Una pàgina web (consta d’imatges, links, paraules...)
Consisteix bàsicament a
modificar i crear objectes ja
No
