1 am an adjunct faculty member at Fairleigh Dickinson University teaching two online
courses in the Master ofAdministrative Science program. The two courses are Customer
Service in Public and Nonprofit Institutions and Grant Writing and Administration. These
am ten-week courses, conducted in an asynchronous manner.
During the Fall 2009 semester ofCustomer Senice, I had a student, José Borbon, who has
asked me to write a letter ofrecommendation on his behalf. Based on my review ofhis work
and the weekly dialogue conducted through the online Discussion Board, (believe that Mr.
Borbon possesses the capacity and ability to succeed in a master’s degree program. I found
Mr. Borbon to be a creative problem solver who demonstrated the ability to thrive with the
challenges ofthe course. Mr. Borbon was conscientious, participating in all ofthe required
weekly Discussion Boards. His contributions were cogent and assisted in creating a lively
and worthwhile interchange among all ofthe students. In addition, his written submissions
evidenced his ability to successfully understand and internalize the key course concepts that
were presented to him. Also, Mr. Borbon’s term-paper confirmed his ability to research and
organize complex issues.
