Traci Van Ooyen completed a successful internship at the University Lake School where she revived their dormant alumni publication. Traci conducted impressive research, designed the layout, and wrote and published a 20-page publication that was sent to over 1,400 alumni. The publication received praise from alumni, including one from the first graduating class who said it was the finest they had ever seen. Throughout the project, Traci demonstrated strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Letter of Recommendation for Traci Van Ooyen
It has been my pleasure to serve as Traci's internship supervisor. Traci began by serving
a six month internship at The University Lake School, and performed so well that we
asked her to extend her inlernship.
The school asked Traci to revive an alumni publication dormant for almost a decade.
Because the school leadership was focused on the educational model and enrollment
growth, we explained the vision and asked Traci to lead and execute the entire project'
Traci began by presenting impressive and organized research that resulted in the final
design and article decisions. From there, we asked Traci to write, design, and publish the
entire publication. We were pleased to send a twenty page publication to over 1,400
alumni in the Spring of 201 5.
The results were superlative. i received a number of phone calls from alumni praising the'
publication. Even more noteworthy, I received a note from an alum of the first graduating
class who wrote that it was the finest ULS publication that he had'ever seen.
Throughout the process, Traci was very professional in her demeanor and work. Traci
showed strong listening and communication skills, the ability to collaborate with ateam,
the ability to work unsupervised, the ability to create a publication from a vision, the
ability to follow through on all things'requested, and the ability to organize multiple
priorities.
As I had earlier mentioned, the results that Traci created were so impressive that we
asked her to.write a number of pieces for the next edition.
