This document discusses the SP Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Zamboanga City, Philippines. It was started in 1994 as the Sangguniang Panglungsod Credit Cooperative by 44 city council members. It has since grown to over 4,000 members and ranks as the 4th largest cooperative in Zamboanga City with over 100 million assets. The cooperative provides loans, savings, insurance, and other financial services to its members at low rates. It aims to improve members' lives through cooperative values and principles of voluntary membership, democratic control, member economic participation, autonomy, education, cooperation among cooperatives, and concern for the community.
