Another standard of the K to 12 curriculum is its being flexible enough so that the local level, the schools in particular, can localize, indigenize and enhance it according to their educational and social contexts. Localization and indigenization, therefore, are major directions to actualize the K to 12 curriculum.
One standard of the K to 12 curriculum is it should be contextualized.

Ito ay mas kilala sa tawag na curriculum guide. Ito ang katumbas ng dating philippine elemenary learning competency sa basic education curriculum. Dito makikita natin ang mga batayang kasanayang lilinanging sa bawat aralin.
Ang mga batayang kasanayan ay nahahati na sa apat na markahan. Ang bawat markahan naman ay nahahati sa 10 linggo.

Isa sa mga feature ng CG ay ang code. Ano ba ang ibig sabihin nito? halimbawa ang F4PS-Ia-12.8? (Ipaliwanag ito gamit ang susunod na slide)
Tingnan naman natin ngayon ang F4PS-Ia-12.8.
Bakit 12.8 ang bilang ng kasanayan na ito na nasa unang linggo sa unang markahan?
Ibig sabihin nito may mga kasanayang kailangang alam na ng mag-aaral na nilinang mula sa kinder hanggang sa baitang 3.
Ang hierarchical learning ni robery gagne. Sinasabi na ang 50 minuto na pag-aaral sa Filipino ay kailangang dumadaan sa ilang mga yugto. Makikita natin sa berdeng kahon ang sinasabi ni gagne sa dilaw naman ay ang katumbas nito sa patnubay ng guro at sa asul naman ay ang sa kagamitan ng mag-aaral.
