ciutats, llars i objectes quotidians.

imaginar i representar els seus déus i
fins a quin punt han influït en nosaltres.
3. LA PINTURA SOBRE
CERÀMICA
Malgrat el seu ús funcional i pràctic, la
ceràmica grega és una de les formes artístiques
més destacades de la cultura grega.
Els objectes de ceràmica eren utilitzats
bàsicament per:
1. emmagatzemar i/o transportar aliments
2. mesclar el vi amb l’aigua
3. servir el vi
4. portar aigua de la font
5. beure i menjar
6. contenidors de perfums i cosmètics
10. L’ESCULTURA
Des de ben aviat els grecs van aprendre a
representar la figura humana –i divina—en
tres dimensions.
Podien utilitzar la fusta, la pedra –sobretot
el marbre—i el metall –bàsicament el
bronze, encara que també altres materials
preciosos com l’ivori o l’or. És per això que
moltes estàtues originals s’han perdut, ja
que van ser reutilitzades. Els romans, però,
ens van deixar moltes còpies dels originals
grecs.

L’escultura era utilitzada:
1. com a element del culte a una
divinitat.
2. com a element decoratiu a les ciutats.
3. com a element decoratiu a les cases
riques.
15. LA PINTURA AL FRESC
La pintura al fresc és una tècnica de pintura sobre
paret que consisteix en aplicar la pintura sobre una
capa de guix encara fresca, d’aquí el seu nom.
Les pintures al fresc eren utilitzades per decorar les
parets de les cases.
Malauradament, la majoria s’han perdut ja que els
murs són fàcilment destruïts per incendis,
terratrèmols, guerres o simplement pel pas del
temps.
Tanmateix, gràcies al fet que Pompeia va ser
enterrada sota la lava i les cendres del Vesubi,
moltes pintures d’aquesta ciutat s’han conservat i
han arribat fins a nosaltres.
17. EL MOSAIC
El mosaic és un sistema per pavimentar
el terra de les cases.
Al començament eren molt senzills,
s’utilitzaven còdols de diferents colors
que es trobaven a les vores dels rius.
A poc a poc es van sofisticar fins a
esdevenir veritables obres d’art.
