Lepsa Village is a rural community located 75km from Focsani in the Vrancea mountains of Romania. It is surrounded by natural beauty like the Cheile Tisitei Natural Reservation home to bears, wolves, and wild goats. Notable attractions include the 80m tall Putna waterfall and the Lepsa trout reservation which produces 10 tons of trout annually. The history of the area is deeply tied to the Lepsa monastery founded in 1774 along the Putna River, which survived communist rule even when closed in 1960. Agro-tourism has developed the area into a recreational green tourism destination where visitors can enjoy hiking, fishing, horseback riding and cycling amidst natural splendor.
