This document discusses rethinking occupancy-based office lighting control strategies. It begins by introducing the topic of occupancy-based lighting control on both the floor and desk level in open-plan offices. The main research question is how occupancy-based lighting can be optimally used in open-plan offices. Several studies are proposed to better understand individual and spatial occupancy patterns, develop clustering methods, and tailor lighting control strategies to individual workers and clusters. The goal is to achieve optimal lighting use and comfort by linking lighting to occupancy while also considering the comfort of coworkers.
