The promise of fidelity – and the social
expectation that married couples should ideally
seek fidelity - is one of the two main core values
that allow for heterosexual pair-bonding
If the social expectation of fidelity died, many
heterosexuals would see no reason to marry.
Why would I marry someone if he or she then felt
free to sleep with other people – maybe have
children with them, catch AIDS from them, etc?
2
From this
Two opposite-sex adults
making a commitment to
work together to fulfil the
RIGHT of their future
biological children to the best
possible start in life

To this
Any two adults making a
commitment to each other
based on mutual, sexual
attraction

Weaken the norm of fidelity within heterosexual
marriages
Leading to poorer outcomes for heterosexuals
themselves, their children and for society (which in
includes same-sex unions too)
3






That legalizing same-sex marriage wouldn’t
lead to polyamorous marriages of 3 or more
people
That, once married, male homosexual
partners would be as sexually loyal to their
partners as heterosexual partners are.
In the years since same-sex marriage was
legalized in various countries we have found
both of these statements to be untrue.
4
We saw the first group marriage in
Brazil in 2012, and the Netherlands in
2013. The governments did nothing to
stop them.









Group marriages are typically associated with poorer
outcomes for women and children (e.g.; many are formed
by controlling men forcing insecure women into them, rich
men creating jealousy based harems, etc).
This is a consequence of a politicians stating that marriage
is solely about the sexual attraction between adults
(E.g. See www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PO1303/S00189/dutchmp-admits-polygamy-group-marriage-next.htm)
5






When group marriages are eventually accepted in law
as a socially healthy possibility, then their group
sexuality will be seen as a healthy possibility too.
Soap operas and movies WILL start to show this ‘marital’ group sex will be seen on television every
evening. This will spread to pre-marital sex too
What is seen as pornography today becomes evening
entertainment for everyone – teens too
6




This might happen through
mutual consent or through
the controlling, abusive will
of one partner

Even if just 2% of heterosexual married couples
each year start involving themselves in group
sex, after 20 years we can expect to see some
40% of married couples participating in some
form of group sex.
7








Same-sex couples do not have to worry about infidelity
leading to an unwanted child. Studies show that fidelity
is not so important for gay married men.
In legalising same-sex marriages in the USA, we
eventually expect to see soap operas showing gay
married men discussing their extramarital affairs, joking
about them, and discussing who they want to have an
affair with next. All this will look like fun and harmless.
This too will weaken the social expectation of fidelity in
heterosexual marriages.
E.g.: See www.mercatornet.com/articles/view/open_monogamy
8
Fidelity
Not important
Gay men, when
married, have a
better chance to
move towards fidelity

Fidelity
Very important
Some heterosexual couples look
at the greater opportunities for
infidelity that gay and group
marriage allow for – and believe
they can do it too.

Whilst infidelity is not a big deal for the majority of gay men
– IT IS A BIG ISSUE FOR HETEROSEXUALS – because they
might have children to be responsible for, or their infidelity
leads to unwanted children and many other negative issues
9
10
Gay Married Men
and Group
marriages = about
1% of population

Heterosexual world

Fidelity is not so important.
Extra-marital sex can be fun.
Having three in bed can be enjoyable
11




If heterosexuals believe that their
future marriages will not be
protected by the social expectation
of fidelity – then fewer will marry.
Also, more heterosexuals will
divorce after they do marry
because infidelity in one form or
another is more likely to enter the
marital home.
12




We have seen very clearly over the
last 50 years that when the
heterosexual marital-family
struggles, the children are often the
ones who suffer the most
They often experience more
challenging childhoods, have less to
be grateful for, many live at far
below their potential, and many
struggle to build marriages of their
own. Is this FAIR for future children?
13




With children suffering poorer
outcomes – social problems rise
and so do national debts
Governments are elected to
strengthen society, not weaken it
for future generations
14
When marriage is solely about an adult’s right to
express their sexuality in any way they want to … the
child’s RIGHT to be raised by their two biological
parents get ever more denied – either because fewer
parents marry because there is no strong expression of
fidelity or because more break up because of infidelity.
In a marriage
redefined world
more children suffer
poorer outcomes and
society goes into
decay.

15




Redefining marriage once opens
it up to be redefined again
When group marriages become
legal, their group sexuality
becomes acceptable, and
infidelity rates WILL rise
dramatically in heterosexual
marriages and children will suffer.
16
Some of the
MANY Faces
of Social
Decay

Thank you for trying

Lecture 2a presents a future timeline how
infidelity slowly but surely grows within
heterosexual marriages. (On slideshare – click
Familyman2 below – Yellow lecture)
Lecture 3 moves on to show how, in a marriage
redefined world, fewer heterosexuals marry in
order to protect their biological children and
how fewer will stay married during the natural
difficult moments in their marriage in order to
bring about best outcomes for their children.

Same-sex Marriage Lecture 2. In a marriage redefined society - fidelity - an essential core value that holds heterosexual marriages together becomes ever more weakened

  • 1. 1
  • 2.    The promise of fidelity – and the social expectation that married couples should ideally seek fidelity - is one of the two main core values that allow for heterosexual pair-bonding If the social expectation of fidelity died, many heterosexuals would see no reason to marry. Why would I marry someone if he or she then felt free to sleep with other people – maybe have children with them, catch AIDS from them, etc? 2
  • 3. From this Two opposite-sex adults making a commitment to work together to fulfil the RIGHT of their future biological children to the best possible start in life To this Any two adults making a commitment to each other based on mutual, sexual attraction Weaken the norm of fidelity within heterosexual marriages Leading to poorer outcomes for heterosexuals themselves, their children and for society (which in includes same-sex unions too) 3
  • 4.    That legalizing same-sex marriage wouldn’t lead to polyamorous marriages of 3 or more people That, once married, male homosexual partners would be as sexually loyal to their partners as heterosexual partners are. In the years since same-sex marriage was legalized in various countries we have found both of these statements to be untrue. 4
  • 5. We saw the first group marriage in Brazil in 2012, and the Netherlands in 2013. The governments did nothing to stop them.     Group marriages are typically associated with poorer outcomes for women and children (e.g.; many are formed by controlling men forcing insecure women into them, rich men creating jealousy based harems, etc). This is a consequence of a politicians stating that marriage is solely about the sexual attraction between adults (E.g. Soap operas and movies WILL start to show this ‘marital’ group sex will be seen on television every evening. This will spread to pre-marital sex too What is seen as pornography today becomes evening entertainment for everyone – teens too 6
  • 7.   This might happen through mutual consent or through the controlling, abusive will of one partner Even if just 2% of heterosexual married couples each year start involving themselves in group sex, after 20 years we can expect to see some 40% of married couples participating in some form of group sex. 7
  • 8.     Same-sex couples do not have to worry about infidelity leading to an unwanted child. Studies show that fidelity is not so important for gay married men. In legalising same-sex marriages in the USA, we eventually expect to see soap operas showing gay married men discussing their extramarital affairs, joking about them, and discussing who they want to have an affair with next. All this will look like fun and harmless. This too will weaken the social expectation of fidelity in heterosexual marriages. E.g.: See www.mercatornet.com/articles/view/open_monogamy 8
  • 9. Fidelity Not important Gay men, when married, have a better chance to move towards fidelity Fidelity Very important Some heterosexual couples look at the greater opportunities for infidelity that gay and group marriage allow for – and believe they can do it too. Whilst infidelity is not a big deal for the majority of gay men – IT IS A BIG ISSUE FOR HETEROSEXUALS – because they might have children to be responsible for, or their infidelity leads to unwanted children and many other negative issues 9
