 Resource leveling: Resource leveling is a project management
technique used to examine the unbalanced use of resources (usually
people or equipment) over time and for resolving over allocations or
conflicts.
Review resource availability.
 ensure the resource is not over over-allocated

 A resource is over allocated if the resource is scheduled for more work on all
assigned tasks than the resource can do within the normal work capacity. A
resource's work capacity is determined by the resource calendar and the resource
availability settings in the Resource Information dialog box.
The simplest way to correct that over allocation is to delay one of those tasks,
ideally a task with lower priority than the others. If you add delay that is less than
or equal to the amount of slack on the task, you will not affect the finish date of
the project.
 Change activity relationships
 Reduce units/time
 Replace one resource for another
 Increase workday or workweek


Project Baseline: A baseline is a copy of a project that you can compare to the
current project to evaluate progress.
Baseline provide a target against which you can track a project cost, schedule,
and resources performance.
1. schedule: is my schedule meeting the dates that I outlined in the base line.
2. cost: am I spending according to my baseline plan.
3. resource: are my resources performing work as outlined in the plan.
User Baselines: User baselines are much less strict than project baselines, can
be created more frequently and with less oversight. Primavera P6 supports up to
three official user baselines called Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary. As noted
above, it is possible to have a large number of baselines, but only three of those
can officially be designated as user baselines at a time.
S Curve is a simple graph that plots project costs, hours, units, or any other values of the sorts depending on the
need and the requirement. S-curves can be plotted for each of these quantities.
Then, we can compare the different S-curves plotted during the lifetime of a construction project to provide valuable insights into
the current status of the project. Construction managers commonly use the S-curve because they provide insights into the
cumulative budget and actual and remaining values during the entire lifecycle of a construction project.
