The 3-day workshop focused on formative assessment techniques for science teachers. It covered defining formative assessment and FACTs (Formative, Assessment, Classroom, Techniques). The workshop discussed learning styles like visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning. It also explored multiple intelligences including logical/mathematical, verbal, interpersonal and intrapersonal learning. The goals of formative assessment are to monitor student learning through ongoing feedback to improve instruction and learning. Teachers should use formative assessments to clarify curriculum, provide effective feedback and engage students in their own learning.
