Visual learners prefer to learn through visual means like pictures, diagrams, and videos rather than listening. They recognize faces and words faster, have good handwriting, and like to observe new situations before getting involved. Some negatives are that they don't remember things they hear for long and may lose focus when reading if they can't visualize the situation. Careers good for visual learners include things like architecture, writing, and interior design which involve visual tasks like drawing.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Nowadays people have different ways to learn depending on
their abilities. There are three kinds of learning styles:
visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. Now we are going to talk
about visual style.
VISUAL STYLE DEFINITION:
A visual learning style is used
by people who have a
preference to learn through
observed things like outlines,
pictures, films, etc.
3. Characteristics of Visual style:
1. They prefer
reading to
listening, they
learn better
when it’s
represented
visually. They
are typically
poor listeners.
4. 2. They recognize and remember
things such as faces, words faster
than people from other learning
styles
6. 4. In their free time they like to watch
films, doodle and stare at something.
7. 5. In class they
don’t get involved
and don’t pay
attention to verbal
communication
because they are
mostly observers
and like quite time
to see an read or
work in the
computer.
8. 6. They tend to look around on
new situations to examinate
and imagine how it might be.
9. 7. When they read they have to imagine the
situation so that they can concentrate better
and don’t get lost.
10. 8. A negative aspect of a visual
learner is that he doesn’t
remember what he heard for a
long period of time such as
names. …
11. 9. Visual learners like professions
that involve
writing, reading, drawing and
painting such as
architects, writers, interior
12. 10. They have good visualization
skills. For example, they can look up
and imagine the information
written or drown.
