Islam places great emphasis on seeking knowledge. The Quran's first revelation commanded "read" or "recite", indicating a desire from Allah to educate people. The Prophet Muhammad made knowledge an essential tool for understanding life and learning was highly respected under early Islamic civilization. Several hadith encourage the acquisition of knowledge and state that seeking knowledge is an act of worship. hallmark of Islamic civilization for centuries
afterwards.

9. The Qur'an itself in clear and clear terms has placed
great emphasis on its people in demanding knowledge.
In one of the words of Allah in Surat Al-Alaq which is
admitted by some mufassir to be among the earlier
revelations,
the earliest word of Quran is "Iqra",
therefore the Qur'an in terms, that clearly indicates:
the desire of Allah to educate men in art
and science.

religion and knowledge are the two main pillars of human
life.

12. KNOWLEDGE
ENABLES ITS POSSESSORS TO
DISTINGUISH WHAT IT IS
FORBIDDEN FROM WHAT IS NOT.

13. Islam has insisted that reason and revelation are the
two wheels of the vehicle of life, and to achieve one's
goal, both wheels must be equal in size, strength and
lubrication. In other words, seeking knowledge is an
act of godliness.
Islam has kept its principles flexible so it would be easy for
individual interpretation.

can be solved in the light of increased knowledge.
