The leaves which perform sone special functions,
in addition to their usual function of
manufacturing of food are called modified leaves,
These modification of leaves are as follows:

• They act as defence organs for protection
against grazing animals.
• Plants like cactus, the leaves gets modified
into hard and pointed structure, called
spines.
• And reduces the loss of water during excessive
hot climates.
Leaf Pitcher.
• This process provides the plants with nutrients
that the plants would not obtain otherwise.
• Plants like Pitcher plants & the sun dew,
possess highl modified leaves that traps, &
digests, insects.
• Such plants are called insectivorous Plants .
Leaf Tendril.
• They help the plant to climb.
• In some plants, the leaves gets modified into
structure which aqre highly coiled.
• Example Pea, gloriosa etc.
Leaf modifird as a reproductive organ.
