Samuel L. Anderson Leadership Philosophy
The purpose of developing my leadership philosophy is to ensure that the people I
interact with will understand what I value, what I expect from myself, what I expect of
them and what my goals are. By sharing my philosophy, I believe we will have better
alignment and create a team that is open, honest and collaborative.

My job is to make a significant contribution to sales, marketing, finance, our broker /
distributor network, employees and key customers by leading, coordinating, servicing,
analyzing, developing and helping implement key brand strategies within the market
place.

My goal is to provide information that is fact based and relevant that will help the
organization achieve their long-term and short term goals. The information that I gather,
analyze, develop and share should be relevant and enable both sales and marketing take
appropriate action in order to meet our business objectives.

I believe that everyone is a customer be it internal or external and that we should provide
information and resources that enable our people to execute our business plans superbly
at retail. I expect the same from you.

I believe that we should understand the needs of our customers and have the ability to
customize our services to meeting their needs, without compromising the overall strategic
goals of the organization and the brands we represent. I expect the same approach of you.

Every program and initiative that we put into action should be measured to ensure we
fully evaluate the business activities and create a fully integrated program. My
expectation is that you will provide measurement on every program and initiative.

Communication is not one way, but rather two ways. My expectation is that everyone in
the organization will be open, honest and timely in regards to communication. This will
ensure that we have an organization that is aligned and collaborative.

I will keep in mind that many people have interest outside of work and that work family
balance is important to productivity. In return, I expect you to work hard.

I believe in order to reach your destination and or goal; you must have a well thought out
plan that is put to paper. My expectation is that every initiative will be well thought out in
regards to ROI and benefit to the team and the equity of the brand. Plan your work and
work your plan.

When providing a recap of recent accomplishments, I commit to providing a professional
presentation that is of the highest quality and is easily understood by all parties involved.
My expectation is that you do the same.

When asked to do a project, I expect it to be completed on time. If the project can’t be
completed, my expectation is that I am notified long before the agreed completion date.

I will return phone calls and emails immediately and respond in an appropriate manner. I
expect the same in return.

                                                                                            1
Samuel L. Anderson Leadership Philosophy

If I see and or hear of a decision you make that may be ethically questionable, I will ask
you about it. Don’t be offended. If you see me do something that you’re unsure of, ask
me about it and I will explain myself. I won’t be offended.

I take a proactive approach in everything I do and communicate the successes,
accomplishments, opportunities, threats, and failures. My expectation is that you will do
the same.

Trust and loyalty are the cornerstones of my philosophy. Everyone will have my loyalty
and trust the moment we meet. For me, trust and loyalty means a history of striving
toward a common goal of excellence and being able to count on each other to get the job
done right. I expect the same of you.

I celebrate victories everyday. To accomplish this, I set small and attainable goals every
few weeks or months to give myself tasks worth striving toward. I don't wait until a big
project to congratulate the people who were involved. Celebrate your successes!

I will always give open and honest feedback, be it good or bad. I expect the same in
return.

Work hard, have fun, laugh at yourself and play hard.
