Mario
Mario often forgot his homework.
He would say things like, “The dog ate
it,” or “The wind blew it away.”
None of which was true.
After many weeks of not telling the
truth, no one believed what he said. But
Mario did not care and kept on lying.
One day Mario came to school very
excited. “My family is moving to
Australia!” he reported.
“Oh, sure you are,” said one student,
with a tone of disbelief.
Another said, “I wish I could believe you.”
Finally, one student asked, “Why do
you always lie?”
