Season 2 of the web series "In The Boardroom" was launched in December 2014 as "Lead by Example" sponsored by GMC. The series featured 15 influential business and community leaders from the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia discussing leadership and how they lead by example. Each leader drove and discussed the new GMC Yukon Denali SUV, reinforcing the vehicle's image as a car for leaders that demand respect. The branded web series was produced across the three markets to showcase GMC and the Yukon Denali in a culturally relevant way to its target Arab male audience aged 30-50.
The document discusses specification by example (SBE) as a technique used at the Office of Personnel Management. It provides an overview of SBE, including that it ensures a shared understanding of requirements through features, user stories, collaboration, scenarios, acceptance criteria, and examples. An example of using SBE for a website that allows searching for microchipped pets is presented. The document also lists some tools that can be used for SBE and tabular or behavior driven development styles. It concludes with contact information.
I presented and facilitated a discussion on this topic to post graduate class in UTS for the MBITM program. The class was well received and I enjoyed making this deck and facilitating this discussion.

Stress management and strategies to cope with individual and organisational s...Chethna Thekkepat
This document defines stress and its types, discusses the General Adaptation Syndrome model of stress, and identifies causes and effects of stress. It also outlines strategies for managing stress at both the individual and organizational level. The three stages of the General Adaptation Syndrome are the alarm stage, resistance stage, and exhaustion stage. Causes of stress include organizational, group, and individual factors. Effects can be physical, psychological, or behavioral. Stress management strategies focus on understanding stress, identifying stressors, and taking constructive measures to cope.
Motivating employees involves both financial and non-financial methods. Financial methods include wages, salaries, bonuses, profit sharing, and performance-related pay. Non-financial methods include praise, promotion, job enrichment, empowerment, and teamwork. Various theories provide perspectives on motivation, such as Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Herzberg's two-factor theory, which emphasize the importance of both financial and non-financial factors. The most effective management style depends on the situation and type of employees.
This document discusses stress management in organizations. It presents a model of stress that includes environmental, organizational, and individual factors. It identifies four key variables that influence an individual's ability to handle stress: perception, job experience, social support, and locus of control. The document then discusses the physiological, psychological, and behavioral effects of stress. It concludes by outlining individual approaches like time management and relaxation training, as well as organizational approaches such as selection and placement, job redesign, and wellness programs that can help manage stress.
Stress is defined as a person's physical and emotional response to change. There are different types of stress including general stress, cumulative stress, acute traumatic stress, and post traumatic stress. Sources of stress can come from environmental factors, organizational factors, and personal factors. Common causes of stress include divorce, death of a loved one, financial setbacks, employment changes, and traffic. Stress can be positive or negative and classified as acute or chronic. Symptoms of stress affect behavior, physiology, and psychology. Stress management techniques include healthy living, exercise, social support, organization, anger management, flexibility, and pursuing hobbies.
The document discusses the differences between leadership and management, with leadership focusing more on long term vision, change, and inspiring others while management prioritizes stability, procedures, and short term goals. It also examines different types of leadership including situational, transitional, and hierarchical leadership and how managers can transition to become effective leaders.

Digital Marketing with a Focus on Sustainabilitysssourabhsharma
Digital Marketing best practices including influencer marketing, content creators, and omnichannel marketing for Sustainable Brands at the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit 2024 in New York
Starting a business is like embarking on an unpredictable adventure. It’s a journey filled with highs and lows, victories and defeats. But what if I told you that those setbacks and failures could be the very stepping stones that lead you to fortune? Let’s explore how resilience, adaptability, and strategic thinking can transform adversity into opportunity.
Lead by Example to Empower Employees and Yourself, By Eric Lent
1. Lead by Example to
Empower Employees and
Yourself
By Eric Lent
2. Leading by example is a popular topic for writers of
business and motivational books, but what behaviors
can executives cultivate to assist them in doing so?
Based on my years of experience, I've outlined several
points below.
3. People who believe in themselves and their goals
inspire confidence. Show others your commitment to
encourage buy-in to your objectives.
4. Like it or not, a leader’s words and actions are the
subjects of constant attention. Make sure to weigh what
you say and do and be aware of the image you project.
5. Respect breeds respect. Treat both subordinates and
supervisors as you would like to be treated.
6. Listen at least as much as you speak. If you show
interest in the ideas of others, you increase their trust in
your leadership.
7. Rather than simply reacting to events, take charge and
turn crises into opportunities.
8. Support your team. If someone in your group makes a
mistake, own it, analyze it, learn from it, and move on.
9. As a leader, it is critical that you gain your employees’
trust early and maintain it through your actions. And
remember that the best leaders recognize and
encourage leadership in their employees by providing
appropriate training and delegating tasks that develop
their staff members’ abilities.
10. About the author: Eric Lent has served in a series of
high-profile executive positions with The Hershey
Company in Hershey, Pennsylvania, most recently as
Vice President, Marketing Excellence and Strategy.
