The Lead Driver Assessor Course trains Waitrose drivers to assess other drivers' competence in maneuvers like parallel parking and tight turns. It teaches assessors how to facilitate exercises that show new drivers their delivery driving role and evaluates their skills. The course also provides information on dynamic risk assessments, using sat-nav equipment while driving, and performing daily vehicle checks.

1. Lead Driver Assessor Course
All drivers for Waitrose are expected to be using FleetBoard for all journeys as this provides
a basis for identifying risk whilst driving.
However, FleetBoard doesn’t necessarily assist with identifying risk whilst manoeuvring.
Waitrose eCommerce drivers are all assessed by a Lead Driver for competence in various
manoeuvring exercises, including the “Waitrose Tight Turn” exercise and Parallel Park.
Lead Driver Assessors are the group of people in branches who are able to facilitate these
exercises, showing new driver partners the driving role on deliveries and assess their driving.
The course includes information on Dynamic risk assessments, use of sat-nav equipment
whilst driving and daily vehicle checks.
