Gastroenteritis is an infection or inflammation of the digestive tract caused by viruses, bacteria, parasites, or chemicals. Common symptoms include loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever and weakness. Treatment depends on the cause but generally involves staying hydrated with oral rehydration drinks and fluids. With proper treatment and prevention of spreading germs, gastroenteritis usually resolves within a few days without long-term effects.

It discusses how internet usage is surpassing TV consumption and outlines key trends like the growth of social media and user-generated content. It also covers the rise of mobile internet and video everywhere through platforms like YouTube and devices that make video capture ubiquitous. In summary, the document reviews major changes in digital media consumption and participation driven by new technologies and behaviors.
This document outlines the process of "spiking" or prototyping a technology to evaluate its fit for a given project. It discusses gathering information about Redis through downloading, interfacing, building prototypes, evaluating operations and performance, and presenting findings to stakeholders. The goal of spiking is to quickly evaluate options in a time-boxed manner before making architecture decisions.
You've heard about limiting WIP (Work-In-Progress) but how good are you at limiting red time? Red time is when you have compilation errors and/or failing tests. A growing group of practitioners have learned how to effectively reduce red time while test-driving and refactoring code. To understand how to limit red time, it helps to visualize it.
In this talk, Naresh Jain demonstrates various strategies to limit your time in Red. He analyzes live programming sessions using graphs that clearly visualize red time. You'll learn what programming processes help or hurt our ability to limit red time and you'll gain an appreciation for the visual cues that can help make you a better programmer and fellow member of the Limited Red Society.

It provides examples and statistics on these topics.
The document discusses how the digital revolution has transformed various aspects of modern life and society. It notes that social media usage and online communities have grown exponentially, with over half the world's population now under 30 and spending increasing amounts of time engaged in digital activities. Control is shifting from traditional gatekeepers to individuals participating in interactive online networks and ecosystems. The presentation advocates testing out social media platforms to build communities and engage in conversations, while maintaining ethical standards.
Layar Augmented Reality Browser - presentation at MIPTV 2010Layar
Layar is an augmented reality platform that allows users to experience additional virtual layers of information overlaid on the real world. The presentation provides examples of how Layar has been used by brands, developers, and content creators to build augmented reality experiences in areas like advertising, entertainment, art, and education. Key details include that Layar is focused on building an open ecosystem for AR, it has partnerships with Samsung for pre-installation on tens of millions of phones, and the company is hosting an event in June 2010 to showcase more applications of the Layar platform.
This document discusses the benefits and considerations of hosting a Drupal site in the cloud. It begins by explaining that "the cloud" really just refers to a new hosting model where infrastructure is provided on-demand via web services APIs. Some key benefits highlighted include lower costs since users only pay for resources used, the ability to quickly scale sites up or down as needed, and greater freedom and flexibility. However, the document also notes there are performance variations and learning curves to cloud hosting. It advocates designing sites to work well in the cloud through techniques like caching, separating concerns, and embracing redundancy.
Raimo van der Klein, CEO of Layar, discusses product updates including an increase in active users to over 1.6 million, plans to introduce global payments and open the platform to allow users to place their own objects, and announces new features like image recognition and video capabilities.
The document describes the marshmallow challenge, an exercise where teams have 18 minutes to build the tallest free-standing structure out of spaghetti, tape, string and a marshmallow using the supplied materials. It notes that business students typically perform poorly while children are more successful. The reasons for this include children's lack of preconceptions, greater diversity in skills and experience, and their ability to experiment through trial and error. The document also discusses how incentives and repeated attempts can improve scores over time by motivating teams and allowing them to learn from mistakes.
The document outlines the history and growth of TwitCasting, a mobile live streaming service, from 2010 to 2012. It launched as the world's third streaming app for iPhone in 2010. Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

In the rapidly evolving landscape of technologies, XML continues to play a vital role in structuring, storing, and transporting data across diverse systems. The recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) present new methodologies for enhancing XML development workflows, introducing efficiency, automation, and intelligent capabilities. This presentation will outline the scope and perspective of utilizing AI in XML development. The potential benefits and the possible pitfalls will be highlighted, providing a balanced view of the subject.
We will explore the capabilities of AI in understanding XML markup languages and autonomously creating structured XML content. Additionally, we will examine the capacity of AI to enrich plain text with appropriate XML markup. Practical examples and methodological guidelines will be provided to elucidate how AI can be effectively prompted to interpret and generate accurate XML markup.
Further emphasis will be placed on the role of AI in developing XSLT, or schemas such as XSD and Schematron. We will address the techniques and strategies adopted to create prompts for generating code, explaining code, or refactoring the code, and the results achieved.
The discussion will extend to how AI can be used to transform XML content. In particular, the focus will be on the use of AI XPath extension functions in XSLT, Schematron, Schematron Quick Fixes, or for XML content refactoring.
The presentation aims to deliver a comprehensive overview of AI usage in XML development, providing attendees with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions. Whether you’re at the early stages of adopting AI or considering integrating it in advanced XML development, this presentation will cover all levels of expertise.
By highlighting the potential advantages and challenges of integrating AI with XML development tools and languages, the presentation seeks to inspire thoughtful conversation around the future of XML development. We’ll not only delve into the technical aspects of AI-powered XML development but also discuss practical implications and possible future directions.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
