Personal Background    Both of Georgia’s grandmothers had her creative spirit.    Georgia’s mother arranged private drawing and painting lessons for her.    Alfred Stieglitz was fascinated with   Georgia’s art as a young woman,  and they were later married.
Historical Influence    1915: First long distance telephone call    1927: First solo nonstop transatlantic flight    1945: Atomic bombs dropped on Japan    1958: First American satellite launched    1986: Space shuttle explodes after liftoff    1986: U.S. bombs military bases in Libya
Influence of Art World    Alfred Stieglitz wasn’t only a personal supporter.    Georgia tried to prove herself to the art world.    There is speculation over symbolism in her work.     A Georgia O’Keeffe museum opened in 1997 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
More Influence of Art World    Georgia expressed herself through her art.    Critics were amazed with Georgia’s art.     They said it “outblazed all others” and that it was “as to startle the senses.”
