Mr Canagasabai Kunalan was a Singaporean track and field athlete who achieved success in the 1960s and 1970s. As a young boy, he enjoyed running games but did not consider himself an athlete. He began competing in secondary school and showed talent, winning his first individual race. After formal training began at a teachers' college, his coach recognized his speed and agility. Kunalan went on to represent Singapore in multiple Olympics and Asian Games, winning medals. His most important race was winning silver at the 1966 Asian Games in a photo finish. Although he stopped competing due to injury at the peak of his career, Kunalan has continued to coach and inspire young athletes.

The experiment aimed to determine whether plain water or sugared water would evaporate faster. The experimenter poured equal amounts of water into two identical cups, adding sugar to one cup. After leaving the cups overnight, the water level in the plain water cup had decreased slightly more than in the sugared water cup. This led to the conclusion that plain water evaporates faster than sugared water, because the dissolved sugar in the sugared water absorbs water from the atmosphere and requires more energy to evaporate.

Human farmers have become dependent on honey bees as natural pollinators have been wiped out by pesticides. With declining bee populations, farmers are turning to "human pollinators" who manually transfer pollen between crops. However, this is an inefficient solution compared to the millions of plants bees can pollinate daily. The overuse of pesticides is a major threat to bee populations, as certain pesticides can kill bees through fumigation, ingestion, or direct contact in very small amounts. Without pollination, both food crops and the entire ecosystem are at risk of collapse.
The document provides strategies for spas and salons to maximize profits during the fourth quarter (Q4) of the year. It discusses optimizing sales through service enhancements and upselling, focusing retail offerings on giftable and personal items, optimizing staffing through scheduling and hiring temporary help, and implementing a marketing plan that includes social media, promotions, and community involvement. Logistical concerns like inventory, compensation, and holiday hours are also addressed. The overall message is that Q4 typically accounts for a large portion of annual sales and profits, so focused efforts are needed in various areas to power up results during this important quarter.

Para superar estos inhibidores, el documento propone 1) la implantación masiva de puntos de acceso comunitario

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
