Las Mingachas 3D outcrop model
1-. Digital Elevation Model (DEM) delimitation and drapping with the ortophotomaps of the
area (PNOA from IGN: Instituto Geografico Nacional), digital cartography of sequential traces,
stratigraphyc wells.
2-. Surface reconstruction from digitized traces & well tops.
a) Reconstructed sequential surfaces. M.F.S. of DSA. shows the surface grid lines.
b) Cross-view of sequential surfaces intersecting the DEM.
3-. 3D volume reconstruction between surfaces with “Cells”
The shape of the cells in plan view is oriented following the main paleoflow direction (towards
South-West) while the Layering (which represents the stratigraphy) is dependent of each
Sequence Set:
4-. Facies Modelling using stratigraphic wells and outcrop data to define its distribution and
nature within each Sequence Set.
