Mount Everest is the world's tallest mountain at 29,028 feet above sea level. It is located in the Himalayan mountain range between Nepal and Tibet. Mount Everest continues to grow slightly each year as it is still forming. The first successful ascent to the summit was made by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953. Since then, over 600 climbers from 20 countries have reached the top, though over 200 have died attempting the climb.
