MUTTON BHUNA GOSHT
This dish is a relatively dry curry with melt in the mouth
lamb/mutton, spicy, creamy tomato sauce that can be ready
to serve within an hour for any amateur curry cook.

500 gm Mutton/Lamb
2 Medium Sliced Onions
2½ tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
4 tsp Coriander Seeds
2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Bay Leaf
2 inch Cinnamon
4 Cloves
2 Black Cardamoms
4 Green Cardamom
25 Black Peppercorns
¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
2 Green Chilies
3 tbsp Yogurt
1 tsp Kashmir Chili Powder
3 tbsp Oil
2 tbsp Chopped Coriander

1. Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a pressure cooker, add two medium sliced onions and fry until golden
brown.
2. Add 500 gm of mutton, add 2 tbsp on water, mix and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes.
3. Add 2.5 tsp of ginger and garlic paste, stir and fry for 2 minutes.
4. Add 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of Kashmir Chili powder, mix and fry for five minutes on
medium heat.
5. Add 2 tbsp of water and fry until the mutton/lamb is brown, and the oil separates.
6. Add 200 ml of water and using the pressure cooker cook until the meat is tender.
7. If you don't have a pressure cooker simmer in a covered pan for 45 minutes or until the meat
tenderizes.
8. Transfer to a wok, add 3 tbsp of yogurt, 2 halves of green chili, and stir. Continue cooking on
a low heat for 2 minutes.
9. Add pre-prepared ground bhuna powder, stir and fry on medium heat for 3 minutes.
10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and stir.
11. Cook for a further 3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
12. Serve with rice or naan.
