The Ladder of Inference is a tool to
 help you better understand how
   your mind is subconsciously
thinking. It can help you to
understand how and why you think
as you do about an issue
 Observe data and experiences. This is
  reality.
 Select data from what is observed
 Make assumptions based on the data
  selected
 Draw conclusions based upon assumptions
 Adopt Beliefs
 Take action in Beliefs
 It makes people more aware of their
thoughts and why they may be thinking the
  way they are
 Makes it easier to explain your thoughts to
  others
 Makes you more aware of how others may
  be thinking
 Opens up communication for others to be
able to express their feelings in a more
  mindful way
 Better communication overall
 Challenges employees to read into others
thoughts or assumptions and how they came
  up with their conclusion
 More respectful way to approach others on
their thought or beliefs to help better
  understand them
