ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Summer training is the most vital part of an BBA course, both as a link
between theory and actual industrial practices as well as an opportunity for
hands on experience in corporate environment. I therefore, consider myself
fortunate to receive the training in an esteemed organization viz.
KRISHAK BHARTI COOPERATIVE LIMITED. Yet the opportunity
could not have been utilized without the guidance and support of many
individuals who although held varied positions, but were equally instrument
for although completion of my summer training.
Mr. Saurabh Rawat and also thanks to all my faculty members and
my Parents and friends. However, I accept the sole responsibility errors of
omission and would be extremely grateful to readers of this project report if
they bring such mistake to my notice.

PREFACE
I consider myself very fortunate to get the opportunity to conduct the
training approval and project assignment by KRISHAK BHARTI
COOPERATIVE LIMITED. I got opportunity to get a practical exposure into
actual environment and it provides me the golden opportunity to make my
theoretical concept of Recruitment and selection process in a more clear
way.
I am very much thankful to MR. V.P Singh (Manager HR) for providing
me the opportunity to do the training in the KRIBHCO. Also, thankful to all
the officials at KRIBHCO for their cooperation during my training for
providing me necessary information without which this project report would
not have been completed.
I have gone through various sites, Research Books, Magazines and
Newspapers to get the accurate information for analysis and tried to find
the best conclusion.

PRODUCTS OF THE COMPANY
1)UREA
Urea is a white crystalline substance
with the chemical formula CO(NH2)2;
Page | 13
It is highly water soluble and contains
46% nitrogen. It was the first organic
compound ever synthesized by chem.-
-ists; this was accomplished in the early
1800s. it is produced in Prilled as well
as in Granular forms.
2)BIO FERTILISERS
Bio-fertilizers, more commonly
known as microbial inoculants, are
artificially multiplied cultures of certain
soil organisms that can improve soil

fertility and crop productivity. Although
the 3 beneficial effects of legumes in
improving soil fertility was known
since ancient times and their role in
biological nitrogen fixation was
discovered more than a century ago,
commercial exploitation of such biological processes is of recent interest
and practice.
3)AMMOIA
Ammonia is a compound of nitrogen and hydrogen represented as NH3. It
is a colourless gas with a characteristic pungent odour. It is produced by
the process called Haber Process. Two molecules of hydrogen gas reacts
Page | 15
with one molecule of nitrogen gas to produce two molecules of
ammonia as given below: 3H2 + N2 ? 42NH3
Ammonia is produced using steam reforming process. The
technology is supplied by Kelloggs, USA. The installed capacity of
ammonia plants is 10.02 Lakh MT per annum and expected to increase to
12.47 Lakh MT per annum post-revamp. Carbon Dioxide is the by- product
of ammonia plant which is used for Urea production in Urea plant annum
post-revamp. Carbon Dioxide is the by- product of ammonia plant which is
used for Urea production in Urea plant.
4) ARGON
Argon is a colorless, odorless, non-flammable, non-reactive, inert gas.
Argon is used in critical industrial processes such as the manufacturing of
high quality stainless steels and production of impurity-free silicon crystals
Page | 16
for semi-conductor manufacture. Argon is also used as an inert filler
gas for light bulbs and as a dry, heavier-than-air-or-nitrogen filler for the
space between glass panels in high-efficiency multi-pane windows.
Kribhco has also installed Liquid argon production unit at the site. The Plant
is designed to process 7,000 Nm3/hr Feed Gas (containing 12 to 14%
Argon) to produce liquid Argon with a purity of min. 99.9995 vol % minimum
(5 ppm max. impurity) and a guaranteed recovery rate of 94% of the argon
contained in the feed gas.
5) SEEDS
KRIBHCO initiated Seed Production programme
in 1990-91 to provide quality seeds to the
farmers through KBSKs in the state of Punjab,
Haryana & U.P. Encouraging response of the

INTRODUCTION
LABOUR WELFARE
INTRODUCTION- Labour welfare work aims at providing such service
facilities and amenities which enable the workers employed in an
Page | 22
organization to perform their work in healthy congenial surrounding
conductive to good health and high morale.
Labour welfare is a comprehensive term including various services,
benefits and facilities offered by the employer. Through such generous
fringe benefits the employer makes life worth living for employees. The
welfare amenities are extended in additional to normal wages and other
economic rewards available to employees as per the legal provisions.
Welfare measures may also be provided by the government, trade
unions and non-government agencies in addition to the employer.
“International Labour Organization efforts to make life worth living for
workers”
According to the Oxford dictionary “Welfare is fundamentally an
attitude of mind on the part of management influencing the method by which
management activities are undertaken.
HISTORY OF LABOUR WELFARE ACTIVITY-
In India the labour welfare started sometime during the 1st world war
(1914-1918). Till then wellbeing of workers in factories was hardly thought
by anybody. Since, 1st world war labour welfare has been expanding on
voluntary basis. Industrial Labour Organization has played a very
significant role for labour welfare. Many labour legislations have been
formed by Indian central government and state governments for welfare of
labours in Industries.
Government has laid down minimum standards for employment and
working conditions in organizations.
Page | 23
Besides the government, the employers, trade unions and
various social organizations also function as agencies for implementation of
labour welfare measures.
A Industrial labour organization (ILO) is an advisory body so it
cannot force any country to introduce any welfare measures. The need of
labour welfare was powerfully felt by the Royal Commission of Labour far
back in 1931, Indian constitution emphasized this need under its directive
principles of state policy.
OBJECTIVE OF LABOUR WELFARE ACTIVITY
Page | 24
Following are the objectives of the voluntary labour welfare services
by employer-
1) To win over employees loyalty and increase their morale.
2) To develop efficiency and productivity among workers.
3) To reduce of threat of future government intervention.
4) To make recruitment more effective.
5) To earn goodwill and enhance public image.
6) To build up stable labour force to reduce labour turnover and
absenteeism.
IMPORTANCE OF LABOUR WELFARE ACTIITY
 Labour welfare in India has a special significance as the constitution
provides for the promotion of welfare of the labour for human conditions
of work and securing to all workers.
Page | 25
 The various welfare measures provided by the employee will have
immediate impact on the health, physical and mental efficiency,
alertness, morale and overall efficiency of the workers and thereby
contributing to the highest productivity.
 Social security measure provided by employer will act as a protection
to the workers. Labour welfare means activities designed for the
promotion of the economic, social and cultural well being of the
employees. Labour welfare includes both statutory as well as non-
statutory activities undertaken by the employers, trade unions and both
the central and state governments for the physical and mental
development of the workers.
 Labour welfare promotes a sense of belongings among the workers,
preventing them from resorting to unhealthy practices like absenteeism,
lobour unrest strike, etc. welfare work improves the relations between
employees and employers. It promotes a real change of heart and a
change of outlook of the part of both the employers and employees.
LABOUR WELFARE ACTIITY IN INDIA
1) Increase in efficiency of employees: Labour welfare activities
increases in efficiency of employees to work. These facilities help in
developing the feeling of dedication among them. Due to the increase
Page | 26
in efficiency the production and the productivity of the enterprise
increase considerably
2) Helpful in reducing the state of poverty among employees:
Labour welfare activities help in establishing sound relations between
employees and employers. When the employees of the organization
feels that they are getting all the possible facilities and the employers
are very caring to them, then such good feeling increases enthusiasm
among employees which will establish peace in the organization.
3) Helpful in reducing the rate of absenteeism and labour turnover:
The rate of absenteeism and labour turnover is much higher in India
as compared to that of developed countries of the world. Provision of
labour welfare activities help in reducing this because the workers
feel them selves well settled at one place
4) Establishment of Organizational peace: Labour welfare activities
help in establishing sound relations between employees and
employers. When the employees of the organization feels that they
are getting all the possible facilities and the employers are very caring
to them, then such good feeling increases enthusiasm among
employees which will establish peace in the organization.

RESEARCH
METHODOLOGY
INTRODUCTION
Page | 40
Research is the process of systematic and in-depth study or
search for any particular topic, subject or area of investigation, backed by
collection, compilation, presentation and interpretation of relevant details or
data. Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research
problem. It may be understood as a science of studying how research is
done scientifically.
Research may develop hypothesis and test it. In it we study the
various steps that are generally adopted by the researcher in studying his
research problem along with the logic behind them.
Research must be based on fact observable data forms a sound
basis for research inductive investigation lead better support to research
finding for analyzing facts a scientific methodology of analysis must be
developed and result interpreted logically.
OBJECTIVES OF STUDY
1) To study the welfare facilities provided to employees.
2) To study how the organization motivate the employees by identifying
and satisfying their unsatisfied needs.
3) To know which special facilities are provided to reserved and minority
class by the organization.
RESEARCH DESIGN USED
Page | 41
As research design is simply the framework or plan for a study i.e.
used as a guide in collecting and analyzing the data. Research design can
be grouped into three categories- exploratory research, descriptive
research and casual research.
I have used exploratory research the framework or plan
for a study I .e. used as a guide in collecting and analyzing the data. There
for, we used exploratory research design in our project.
EXPLORATORY RESEARCH
Exploratory research studies are also termed as formulating
studies. The main purpose of such studies that of formulating of the
problem for more precise investigation or of developing the working
hypotheses from an operational point of view. An exploratory
research focuses on the discovery of ideas and is generally based on
secondary data. It consists:
1) Search of secondary data and literature
2) Survey
1) SEARCH OF SECONDARY DATA AND LITERATURE- The
quickest and most economical way is to find possible hypotheses
from the available literature. The past research may be suitable may
suitable sources of information to develop new hypotheses. The
researcher can search them for his research purpose.
Page | 42
2) SURVEY REPORT- Survey means the survey of people who
have had practical experience with the problem to be study. These
individual can be top executives, sales manager, wholesaler and
retailer processing valuable knowledge and information about the
problem environment
RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS USED
I have used the following research instrument in my project-
 QUESTIONNAIRE
The term questionnaire usually refers to a self – administered
process whereby the respondent himself read the question and
records without the assistance of an interviewer.
 INTERVIEW
The interview method of collection data involves presentation of oral-
verbal stimuli and reply in terms of oral- verbal response.
Page | 43
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE USED
When field studies are under are under taken in practical life,
consideration of time cost and some other factors almost invariably lead
to selection of respondents. The selected respondents constitutes a
sample and the selection process is called sampling technique.
A sample design is define plan determined before any data are actually
collected for obtaining a sample from a given population. Sample can be
either probability sample or non probability sample.
I have selected simple random sampling in my project.
 SIMPLE RANDOM SAMPLING
This type of sampling is also known as chance sampling or
probability sampling where each item in the population has an equal
chance of being selected in the sample.
 SAMPLE SIZE
When a survey is undertaken and when it is not possible to cover
the entire population the researcher has to answer the basic
questions like-
how large should be sample be ? the sample size decision is
related directly to research cost.
I have taken 100 people in my sample size as the sample size
should be neither so small nor so large.
Page | 44
METHOD USED FOR DATA COLLECTION
The task of data collection begins after a research after a research problem
has been defined and research design chalked out. While deciding about
the method of data collection to be used for the study the researcher
should keep in mind two types of data-:
1) Primary data
2) Secondary data
1) PRIMARY DATA-:
Primary data means data that are collected by different techniques
like Questionnaire, Depth interview, Surveys, Schedules etc.
In this project I have collected data by Questionnaire.
Sources of Primary data
 Questionnaire
 Interview method
2) SECONDARY DATA:
Secondary data means data that are already available i.e.: they refer
to the data which have already been collected and analyzed by some
one else. Usually published data are available in:
Sources of Secondary data:-
 Books, magazines and newspapers.
 Reports and publications of various associations connected
with industry.
 Internet

Page | 63
SUGGESTIONS

 New facilities should be added to the existing ones by early action
taken by management.
 Company should increase the Canteens facilities to the contract
workers.
 Company should increase the some healthy food items in canteen.
 The system should be made more clear & specific from the support of
human resource department through continual improvement
Page | 64
LIMITATIONS
 The study does not cover the entire work for as sample size is 100
 The study is based on a particular class of employees i.e. Officer,
clerk etc.
 The result depends on the answers received from respondent
which may be biased.
 Sample size was only 100.So the result may not reflect the actual
situation. A large sample size may reflect better result.
 Some executive might have not answered the questions currently
because of the busy schedule. They tend to hurry up the talk, which
inhibits proper collection of data.

CONCLUSION
Page | 66

The employees of the organization are found to be satisfied with the
facilities provided to them by the company.

provided to them and they are availing special welfare facilities
according to their need.
 A neat, clean and peaceful environment of the organization helps in
maintaining satisfaction and enthusiasm to perform work among the
employees.

satisfied with the routine welfare facilities which they are availing on a
regular basis.
 The routine welfare facilities are availed by each employee in the
organization by simply filling an application, without any proof and the
time required is also nominal.
 The time required for sanctioning the special welfare facilities is fast.
 The process of availing special welfare facility is not very lengthy.

  • 40. Page | 40 Research is the process of systematic and in-depth study or search for any particular topic, subject or area of investigation, backed by collection, compilation, presentation and interpretation of relevant details or data. Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. It may be understood as a science of studying how research is done scientifically. Research may develop hypothesis and test it. In it we study the various steps that are generally adopted by the researcher in studying his research problem along with the logic behind them. Research must be based on fact observable data forms a sound basis for research inductive investigation lead better support to research finding for analyzing facts a scientific methodology of analysis must be developed and result interpreted logically. OBJECTIVES OF STUDY 1) To study the welfare facilities provided to employees. 2) To study how the organization motivate the employees by identifying and satisfying their unsatisfied needs. 3) To know which special facilities are provided to reserved and minority class by the organization. RESEARCH DESIGN USED
  • 41. Page | 41 As research design is simply the framework or plan for a study i.e. used as a guide in collecting and analyzing the data. Research design can be grouped into three categories- exploratory research, descriptive research and casual research. I have used exploratory research the framework or plan for a study I .e. used as a guide in collecting and analyzing the data. There for, we used exploratory research design in our project. EXPLORATORY RESEARCH Exploratory research studies are also termed as formulating studies. The main purpose of such studies that of formulating of the problem for more precise investigation or of developing the working hypotheses from an operational point of view. An exploratory research focuses on the discovery of ideas and is generally based on secondary data. It consists: 1) Search of secondary data and literature 2) Survey 1) SEARCH OF SECONDARY DATA AND LITERATURE- The quickest and most economical way is to find possible hypotheses from the available literature. The past research may be suitable may suitable sources of information to develop new hypotheses. The researcher can search them for his research purpose.
  • 42. Page | 42 2) SURVEY REPORT- Survey means the survey of people who have had practical experience with the problem to be study. These individual can be top executives, sales manager, wholesaler and retailer processing valuable knowledge and information about the problem environment RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS USED I have used the following research instrument in my project-  QUESTIONNAIRE The term questionnaire usually refers to a self – administered process whereby the respondent himself read the question and records without the assistance of an interviewer.  INTERVIEW The interview method of collection data involves presentation of oral- verbal stimuli and reply in terms of oral- verbal response.
  • 43. Page | 43 SAMPLING TECHNIQUE USED When field studies are under are under taken in practical life, consideration of time cost and some other factors almost invariably lead to selection of respondents. The selected respondents constitutes a sample and the selection process is called sampling technique. A sample design is define plan determined before any data are actually collected for obtaining a sample from a given population. Sample can be either probability sample or non probability sample. I have selected simple random sampling in my project.  SIMPLE RANDOM SAMPLING This type of sampling is also known as chance sampling or probability sampling where each item in the population has an equal chance of being selected in the sample.  SAMPLE SIZE When a survey is undertaken and when it is not possible to cover the entire population the researcher has to answer the basic questions like- how large should be sample be ? the sample size decision is related directly to research cost. I have taken 100 people in my sample size as the sample size should be neither so small nor so large.
  • 44. Page | 44 METHOD USED FOR DATA COLLECTION The task of data collection begins after a research after a research problem has been defined and research design chalked out. While deciding about the method of data collection to be used for the study the researcher should keep in mind two types of data-: 1) Primary data 2) Secondary data 1) PRIMARY DATA-: Primary data means data that are collected by different techniques like Questionnaire, Depth interview, Surveys, Schedules etc. In this project I have collected data by Questionnaire. Sources of Primary data  Questionnaire  Interview method 2) SECONDARY DATA: Secondary data means data that are already available i.e.: they refer to the data which have already been collected and analyzed by some one else. Usually published data are available in: Sources of Secondary data:-  Books, magazines and newspapers.  Reports and publications of various associations connected with industry.  Internet
