Finding The Social In Fundraising: AFP Northern New England Keynote AddressDebra Askanase
Millennials are cultural and technological influencers, and their adoption of technology has fueled the social web, along with everything we do with it, including fundraising. In this keynote presentation, I look at what the development of tech platforms, coupled with the rise of social citizens, tells us about how donors, fundraisers and other stakeholders want to utilize social communication for fundraising. The presentation looks carefully at people, media, and expectations of nonprofit behavior, and how what we do today as nonprofits must be social. Lastly, I consider: what does an organization need to do now, to support social media fundraising as new communications media matures?

Every year Pay It Forward Day is held in April. I created this presentation for "Pay It Forward Day 2013". This presentation is based on a speech that I gave at Toastmasters on Pay It Forward. Imagine how much better the world would be if every day we paid it forward!
Had a blast presenting this at the Houston Net Squared Meetup in February 2013 with Caitlin Kaluza! The presentation recap isavailable here: http://blog.tendenci.com/injecting-fun-into-your-nonprofit-netsquared-houston-february-meetup-recap/
Female Entrepreneurs Who Have Changed the WorldJustin Anderson
March is Women's History Month. To celebrate, here are five female entrepreneurs who have changed, or are changing the world with their successful ventures.
For the first time in history, there are four generations involved in philanthropy: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen X and Gen Y (Millenials). Although each generation is philanthropic, they have individual preferences for how they are engaged by nonprofits. This session will demonstrate how important it is to create lifetime givers by reaching out to the younger generations (under age 40) now. We will define the key characteristics of the four currents generations and their habits for charitable giving. Nonprofit professionals will learn strategic entry points to successfully engage these younger generations in philanthropy, both as donors and in the multigenerational development office. Ultimately, today’s annual donors are tomorrow’s major donors; we need to cultivate them today.
Learning Objectives:
• Find out how and where to find and cultivate young philanthropists
• Identify myths and realities of multigenerational philanthropy
• Learn what your organization needs to be aware of to manage a multi-generational development office.

Nonprofit Storytelling in A Digital World - HandsOn Tech BostonJulia Campbell
Description: Digital technologies have fundamentally changed the way people read and consume information.
If your nonprofit is not embracing digital tools to compose a compelling narrative around your cause, your information could be getting lost in the noise.
In this increasingly competitive landscape for donors’ attention and support, getting people to notice and to hear your message can seem impossible.
Email communications, social media, and mobile are all important to understand, but how will these tools really help you connect with your donors and supporters?
These are the introduction slides for the past MyCharityConnects On The Road presented by Direct Energy that happened in Calgary and Edmonton in November 2009.
A Marketing proposal submitted as part of a national competition for Charity:Water. I did the design and layout, as well as the market analysis and research.
This was created in my time at Kelton Global as the start to a larger project on "slacktivism." The goal of this piece was to provide insight into the effects of technology on charitable giving.

The ecosystem of nonprofits is exploding, yet the problems society faces are larger than nonprofits, said Allison Fine, on the Care2 webinar The Networked Nonprofit. The solution? Networking. This was one of the key takeaways during the webinar presented by Fine, Beth Kanter, Danielle Brigida of National Wildlife Federation, and Mark Sirkin of Austim Speaks. “Nonprofits are fortresses trying to manage the message. Free agents will free you from your cage,” said Kanter. What’s a free agent? They are volunteers in your network. People who are passionate about your nonprofits issues and who want to make a difference! “Invite them in,” said Kanter. Brigida agreed. A truly "networked nonprofit" realizes that help is reciprocal and this is something the National Wildlife Federation is embracing in their constituent engagement strategy.
Sirkin said that nonprofits are too focused on ROI – Return on Investment, something many of us in the nonprofit community have been discussing as we continue to develop metrics to help measure social media’s impact. “We need to be focusing on ROE - Return on Engagement," said Sirkin
This was a presentation by @danielapapi given at the WETM conference in London on March 18th, 2014. It relates to responsible volunteer tourism lessons learned.

In 2009, 2-1-1 services in the United States answered more than 16.2 million calls. Every hour of every day, hundreds of people need essential human services - they are looking for training, employment, food pantries, help for an aging parent, addiction prevention programs for their teenage children, affordable housing options, support groups and ways of becoming part of their community. 2-1-1 allows people to give help and to get help.
