The B-17 could carry a large bomb load over long distances and had a reputation for being able to survive extensive battle damage and return home. Three different B-17 airplanes were known as "Shoo Shoo Baby" and one was piloted by 1st Lt. Paul Stewart on seven missions before being shot down on its last, killing all seven crew members.

This PPT accompanied a presentation given by Joseph Dias and Gregory Strong at the JALT PAN-SIG Conference in Matsumoto Japan on May 21, 2011 in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
As most of our students now are digital natives who prefer YouTube to Hugo, Facebook to Fitzgerald , and Twitter to Twain, it’s difficult to have them attend to texts longer than status updates. The speakers will discuss ways of inviting students to become lifelong learners by making reading relevant.
The speakers discussed the groundwork for a reading curriculum revision project in an English Department of a Japanese university by presenting the results of their investigation of current teaching practices, along with an exploration of all aspects of their students' reading: both in the L1 and L2, online and off, mobile and static, for pleasure and required, current and projected. The project began with a thorough needs analysis (Brown, 1995; Richards and Rogers, 2001) that involved focus groups, classroom observation, and the administration of online surveys to students, reading teachers, and upper division content course instructors. Particular attention was focused on how reading instruction could be made relevant to digital natives and how the practice of reading could be made into a habit and carried beyond the temporal and physical confines of school life.

Throughout this module, I have learned many things and encountered diverse experiences, both exciting and challenging. The module as a whole has enabled me to explore further into my strengths and work on improving my weaknesses so that I can enhance my overall performance. Working with other students during class assignments and projects has enabled me to advance my skills such as communication, effective learning, and teamwork. Besides, working with other people on the various tasks has made the learning experience in Loughborough University more interesting and enjoyable. In fact, in our previous group project, we significantly helped each other and cooperated on all the necessary tasks. The encouragements and inspirations we provided to each other were unprecedented. I feel I have gained a lot from them, exchanging thoughts and ideas about many diverse issues, expressing different viewpoints and inspiring me to develop my own thinking.

Structured Student Interactions
This mixed methods study explored the characteristics of a cooperative learning activity, the “Study Buddy”, implemented in a graduate-level online course in instructional design. The study explored whether students (n=25) who participated in the Study Buddy activity took deeper approaches to their learning than those who did not participate (n=6), what value students received from participating in the activity, and whether the structure of the activity was appropriate to support deeper approaches to learning.
Quantitative and qualitative results were merged to form conclusions that suggest that participants could be encouraged to take deeper approaches by faculty providing sample questions for students to use to evaluate their partners’ work. Results suggest that the study buddy activity can be used to encourage social connections and to provide participants with opportunities to consider alternate opinions. Findings related to the ideal structure of the activity were inconclusive.

This document discusses a study that examined how a supervisor's self-disclosure relates to an employee's liking of their supervisor. The study surveyed 168 employees about their supervisor's self-disclosure behaviors and how much they liked that supervisor. The results showed that both the perceived motivation for a supervisor's self-disclosure and how appropriate the employee perceived the self-disclosure to be predicted how much the employee liked their supervisor. This suggests that supervisors need to consider both their motivation for self-disclosing and whether the disclosure will be seen as appropriate by employees in order to build liking and positive relationships with employees.

There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
