This document summarizes the situation of human trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation in Goa, India. It finds that Goa is a major destination state, with 179 trafficking victims identified in 2005, 146 of whom were from India. The top sources of trafficking included West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Manipur. Trafficking occurred through hotels, flats, dance clubs, conferences, and massage parlors. Interventions included rescue operations, safety and protection measures, inquiries, repatriation, and rehabilitation. Challenges included ensuring speedy repatriation and prosecution of traffickers across states. Collaboration between service providers in destination and source states was seen as key to addressing the issue.
