The University of Cape Town organized the Vice Chancellor’s open lecture ion the 26th of August’ 2014, which was delivered by Dr Rajesh Tandon, Co-chair, UNESCO Chair on Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education. This was also followed by the Launch of the GUNi World Report 5 on ‘Knowledge Exchange and Higher Education: Contributing to social change’.
"If universities get their knowledge production function right in the contemporary context, they will be able to improve learning in their teaching and that will be their most important contribution in terms of service," said Dr Rajesh Tandon during his Vice-Chancellor’s Open Lecture.

Talk on "Money in Politics” by Mr. Sam van der Staak, Senior Programme Manager, Political Parties Team, International IDEA.

Mr. Sam van der Staak, Senior Programme Manager, Political Parties Team, International IDEA gave a very interesting and informative talk on the topic of Money in Politics. The talk was attended by PRIA staff and development executives from several Delhi based NGOs. Mr. Staak was particularly happy to see the women’s participation in the event and said that the discussion on politics should not be limited to men.
