9. Learning Objectives:
At the end of 60-minute period with 80%
proficiency level, the learners are expected to:
a.) Define and identify the chords, arcs, central
and inscribed angles of a circle
b.) Name and illustrate the chords, arcs,
central and inscribed angles of a circle
c.) Value accumulated knowledge as means of
new understanding
10. CIRCLE
It is a set of all points with the same distance from a
fixed point called the center.
The point is called the center o central point.
Circles are named through its central point.
● A
11. RADIUS
It is a segment whose endpoints are the center and
a point on the circle.
B ● A
12. DIAMETER
It is a chord that passes through the center of the circle.
It is the longest chord of a circle.
Its length is twice as the radius.
D

● A
13. CHORD
It is a line segment that has its endpoints on the
circle.
C
B ● A
14. Arcs
It is a part of a circle between any two points.
It is measured in terms of degrees.
A circle itself is an arc that measures 360°.
Classification:
a. Minor arcs- is an arc that measures less than a
semicircle.
- It is named usually by using two endpoints.
15. b. Semicircle- is an arc which is one-half of a circle.
- It measures exactly 180°.
c. Major arcs- is an arc that is greater than the
semicircle which measures between 180° and 360°.
16. Central angle
It is an angle formed by two rays whose vertex is
the center point of the circle.
Each ray intersects the circle at point, dividing into
arcs.
Inscribed angle
It is an angle whose vertex is on the circle and
whose sides contain chords of the circle.
17. ACTIVITY TIME!

18. ACTIVITY!
a. Draw circle A
b. Locate three points on the circle such as B, C,
and D.
c. Connect point A and point B
d. Name the segment formed then what do you call
to segment AB in relation to circle.
e. Supposed you will cut the circle along points A and
C, what happens to the circle?
