New horizons in transportation: mobility, innovation, economic development an...McKinsey & Company
New technologies are creating opportunities across various asset classes. Six trends are driving changes: 1) assets will be operated and monetized in real-time through data and connectivity, 2) automation is accelerating and expanding, 3) consumers are shifting to new mobility options, 4) logistics demand speed and transparency, 5) cybersecurity risks are growing, and 6) assets must be flexible, resilient and sustainable for environmental changes. These trends could significantly impact transport, energy, water, waste, and telecom assets. Technology offers public benefits like economic savings, sustainability, and safety, while also creating private investment opportunities.
Whilst first commercial deployments of the next 6th Generation Cellular Networks are estimated to land in 2030, bringing ubiquitous intelligence, hyper-connectivity, merging physical and cyber domains, triggering new usages and services, the Robotics market size is forecast to reach USD 214.68 billion, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 22.8% by 2030, with a valuation of approximately USD 340 billion by the end of 2040. We’ll thus highlight key usages and services within the wide domain of robotics that start to benefit from 5G/B5G, and that will be reinforced and upscaled thanks to 6G technology.

The Business Case for Connected Vehicles: Executive Summary Andreas Mai
This document provides an executive summary of the business case for connecting vehicles. It outlines that the current personal transportation system is inefficient and costly, both financially and environmentally. Connecting vehicles internally and to an external communications network could help address these issues and create new business opportunities. The benefits of vehicle connectivity include reduced traffic congestion, fewer accidents, lower insurance costs, and new revenue streams for automakers and insurers. Governments play a key role by implementing smart road pricing to capture societal cost savings and incentivize further connectivity investments.

This document analyzes the positioning of five fast food brands (McDonald's, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Subway, and Burger King) using perceptual mapping techniques. Wendy's requested this analysis due to poor Q2 sales. The analysis found that Wendy's ranked lowest in preference but highest in attributes like taste and value. It suggests Wendy's reposition itself to emphasize healthy options and capture open space in perceptions. Specifically, moving to be seen as more balanced and less associated only with classics could boost preference without much operational change.

Vendor Management & AP Audit Report - Data Mining & AnalyticsTeri Grossheim
This audit report summarizes the findings of an audit of Semi-Elite Properties' vendor management and accounts payable processes between 2014-2016. Several issues with existing controls were identified, including payments made before orders/invoices, employees approving amounts over authorization limits, and a small number of payments made to addresses not on the vendor master file, including similar payments to vendors. The report recommends implementing automated system controls to address weaknesses and investigating suspicious payments.
This report provides recommendations for scheduling security officers at properties owned by a client based on an analysis of crime data from 2001-2017 in Chicago. It finds that Wards 27, 3, and 4 experience the highest crime, with Ward 27 the primary focus. Crime peaks from May-September and Friday-Sunday. Theft and battery are most common. It recommends a seasonal staff that fluctuates based on time of day and week, with extra security in Wards 27 and 3 focusing on streets, apartments, and sidewalks from 1-2pm and 10pm-8am. Social media could also help prevent crime.

It suggests Wendy's reposition itself to emphasize these strengths and move into open spaces on the perceptual map, such as towards attributes like speed and modern décor, to potentially improve sales performance. However, the analysis notes perceptual mapping provides only a snapshot and Wendy's should carefully evaluate any changes based on costs, resources required, and whether ongoing studies are preferred.

Advanced Storytelling Concepts for MarketersEd Shimp
Every marketer knows you’re supposed to tell a story, but do you know how to tell a story? Do you know why you’re supposed to tell a story? Do you even truly know what a story is? While many marketing presentations emphasize the value of mythic storytelling, the nuts and bolts of actually constructing a story are never explored.
The goal of marketing may be to achieve specific KPIs that drive sales, which is very objective, but the top of the marketing funnel requires a softer approach. In our data-driven results-oriented fast-paced world, marketers must quantify results, but those results will never be achieved unless prospects are first approached with humanity.
There is a common misunderstanding that the so-called “soft skills” of marketing such as language and art are unmeasurable and subjective, but while the objective measures of market research are merely 100 years old, the rules of aesthetics have been perfected over the last 2,500 years.
Great story construction is a skill that requires significant knowledge and practice. This presentation will be a review of the ancient art of story construction.
We will discuss:
• Rhetoric – The art of effective communication
• The Socratic Method – You cannot teach, but you can persuade people to learn
• Plato’s Cave – You sell products, but you market ideas
• Aristotle’s Six Dramatic Elements – The secret recipe for marketing stories
This is for senior marketers who are tasked with creating effective narratives or guiding others in the process. By the end of the session, attendees will have gained the knowledge needed to work storytelling into all phases of the buyer’s journey.
