The Klamath Plum is a shrub or small tree found in Southern Oregon and Northern California with small oval leaves, dark red or purple fruit, and white flowers forming in round clusters. It forms dense thickets that provide great browse and habitat for deer and elk, while its plums are eaten by birds and mammals and can be made into excellent jam.

serviceberry

• Found in Southern Oregon and Northern
California, especially in Klamath and Lake
counties
• Widespread in our area in canyons, roadsides,
hills, and forests
• Forms dense thickets
• Great browse and habitat for deer and elk
• Plums eaten by birds and variety of mammals
including raccoons and bears
• Plums make excellent jam
