• Opposite leaves pinnately compound 
• Leaves up to 12” 
• Flowers in white clusters 
• Dark blue black berries 
• Opposite branches 
• Small scraggly shrub like trees
Ecology 
• Grows in the open in places like 
roadsides,hillsides and disturbed areas 
• Fruit eaten by birds and mammals but may 
be toxic to humans unless cooked 
• Used for wine, jelly and jam
