Exploring
our 5 Senses
A Fun Adventure for Kids!
Welcome, curious kids!
Today, we're going on an
exciting journey to discover
our five senses.
Senses help us understand the world around us.
Imagine a superhero team inside you
they are your senses!
What Are Senses?
Sight (Vision)
Our eyes help us see colors,
shapes, and movements.
Think of your eyes as cameras
capturing pictures!
Hide colored objects around the classroom and
have kids find them.
Give them a list of colors to check off as they find
each one.
Let's play a game:
Hearing (Audition)
Our ears help us hear sounds, like
music, laughter, and birds chirping.
Pretend your ears are detectives,
always listening for new clues!
Play various sounds (animal noises, musical
instruments, etc.) and have kids guess what they
are.
Sound Guessing
Game:
Smell (Olfaction)
Our nose helps us smell yummy things
like flowers, cookies, and pizza!
Picture your nose as a detective too,
sniffing out delicious scents.
Let's smell different things and guess
what they are!
Mystery Scent Bottles:
Place different scents (vanilla, lemon, cinnamon,
etc.) in bottles and have kids guess what each
scent is without seeing the bottle.
Taste (Gustation)
Our tongue helps us taste sweet, sour,
salty, and bitter flavors.
Imagine your tongue as a brave explorer,
trying new foods!
Let's taste some snacks and describe
their flavors.
Taste Test:
Blindfold kids and have them taste different foods
(sweet, sour, salty) and guess what they are.
Touch (Tactile)
Our skin helps us feel textures like soft,
rough, smooth, and bumpy.
Think of your skin as a superhero cape,
protecting you and feeling everything!
Let's touch different objects and describe
how they feel.
Mystery Box:
Place various objects with different textures
(soft, rough, smooth) in a box and have kids reach
in, feel them, and guess what they are without
looking.
We've had a blast exploring our five
senses today!
Remember, every day is an adventure
when we use our senses to discover
new things around us.
Thank You!
