The opening scene of Kill Bill uses contrasting black and white colors and off-center framing to immerse the audience. A distressed bride lies on the floor in her white dress surrounded by black blood, foreshadowing the dark story of revenge. A man's hand wipes her face, revealing the word "bill" on a napkin and hinting at the plot. When she is shot, her blood appears black, portraying her as either dead inside or a heartless character. The title sequence uses a bold font and black/white colors to intrigue audiences about the darkness of the film. The final shot silhouettes the dead woman in black against a white background, symbolizing her death.

2. Opening scene, quote:
The use of the white writing on the black background is due to the
quote and how ‘revenge’ is seen as a dark abstract noun which is
resembled in the background to give effect to the audience. The
word ‘cold’ is interpreted by the cold white writing which allows the
focus of this scene to be on the writing due to the contrast in
colours.
3. Shot of distressed woman on the floor:
Within this scene the use of colour is very effective due to her white vale to
represent innocence and purity as she is getting married on her wedding day. The
use of black within this scene is also striking due to the blood on her face and teeth
being black which takes away the gore from this scene to focus on her and to focus
on how she's feeling within this scene. The framing of this scene is also effective
due to the woman being off centre with the frame which allows the audience to
focus on her as well as the broken glass and blood on her side.
4. Shot of a mans hand wiping the woman's face:
Within this scene it shows the a napkin (prop) with the word ‘bill’ on
which is an indication on the audience to who bill is and a small insight
into the story and plot of the film and what its about.
5. Shot of blood splatter:
The use of colour within this scene is shown as the blood
splatter from the bullet has it hits her indicates that she is dead
and that the use of the blood being shown as black might
represent that she is dead inside or the director is trying to show
her as a dark heartless character towards the audience.
6. Opening title sequence:
The use of the large font within this title scene is used to show the main
name of the film to seam enticing to audience and to make the audience
interested to what the film is about. Also the use of colour within this scene
is eye-catching due to the two simple and opposite colours used to
resemble what the film maybe about, such as the black is used to show the
darkness of the film and that the white is used to signify purity within the
film. Also the use of the little ‘vol.1’ in the corner of the ‘Kill Bill’ shows that
this is the first in a series of this franchise.
7. Shot of woman on her back:
The use of colour within this scene shows the woman as all
black like a silhouette which could represent that she is
dead due to her not being lit and her being shot with no
light on her. The background is lit and it white to show the
audience that she is in shot and she is in the centre of the
frame to show that she is the main focus in this shot.
