This document discusses the history and activities of eBirders of Kasaragod, a birdwatching group in Kerala, India. It outlines projects the group has conducted, including a bird atlas of Kasaragod from 2017-2018. The document also describes the group's long-term bird monitoring (LTBM) project, which involves regular monitoring of bird populations at select sites in Kasaragod. Results showed the LTBM project increased data collection and knowledge of breeding and distribution. Suggestions are provided to improve the LTBM project through increased participation and a more scientific methodology.

How it worked out?
• Whatsapp group, Reminders, Help, Support, Discussions.

• More interesting than normal birding.
• Covered more locations with proper visits. (coastal areas)
• Able to fill birdings gaps, more lists & data
• More checklists (more data) {8*5=40, 40*9= 360 checklists/year from 9
locations).
• Helped to get more information including breeding nesting (WBSE)
• If this is applied for few more locations, we will get more data on
distribution (possible to get in touch with locals, due to continous visit)
• We have just started, more results will be based on sets of data over few
years.

• Need somone as a district coordinator
• Need a separate group to discuss LTBM
• Always need updations
• Need extra birders per one location.
• Some interested birders may go for monitoring multiple times a year
but later there are cases where they fail to conitnue it for long, so
selecting some methodology is important.
• Meetings, discussions are important.
