Kaleidoscope is a reading intervention program designed to help students reading two or more grade levels below catch up in two years through two hours of daily instruction. It has five overlapping levels that build reading skills through a five-day lesson cycle focusing on phonemic awareness, word study, fluency, comprehension, and assessment. While it provides sequential lessons and assessments, the program lacks research on its results and does not provide support for organizing small group instruction.
