SOCIAL MEDIA APP FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION
‘The Samatarian Radar’ is a Twitter web app launched by the charity Samatarians. App
uses an algorithm to pick up keywords and phrases within a tweet that imply depression,
then sends an email to users who follow the account which had tweeted with guidelines
on reaching out and giving support. Application of the app on Twitter and other social
platforms could provide early-warning systems and support networks for various social
problems.

THIS TRANSFORMER IS NOT A TOY
J-deite Quarter is still a miniature prototype,1/4 of a standard-size
automobile when in vehicle-mode. Come 2020, the full-size Transformer
could be available. Fingers crossed it is Autobot, its eventual utilisation
as a war machine is not far-fetched at all.

FUTURE IN OUR HANDS
Sensorial immersion on a whole new level in virtual reality using our
hands. ‘Nimble Sense’ is a depth sensing camera system utilising
skeletal hand tracking hardware and software developed primarily for
Oculus Rift. Imagine piloting that spaceship with our hands in a shooting
dogfight in the world of Eve: Valkyrie.

SCENT OF A COMET
Humanity satisfies our curiosity with the five senses so it is natural to want to know
how a comet smells. It is now proven that comets emit a foul concoction. One
description says ‘rotten eggs, cat pee and stale beer’.
