Staffing News
Cheeky Monkeys is committed to supporting staff in their continuous
Development.
All staff attended safeguarding training which was held in house.
We are looking at holding some outdoor play training at garden needs next
month. Staff will be learning about forest types and school activities.
Graduation
Every year we have a Graduation for those children who are going to Primary
School. It isa great chance for us to get the children excitedabouttheir
transition to school andalso for the children andparents to say goodbye to
Cheeky Monkeys .
Children will be given a graduation certificate andperformsome songs anda
dance for parents. As always it will be a day of mixedemotion for everyone
with a special appearance froma mystery guest. Graduation will start @ 3.00pm
School Leavers
Don’tforget If your childis leaving to go to reception or nursery class this year
couldyou please let us know whichschool your childwill be attending anda
leaving date. This will allow usto see how many spaces we have for September
and allows staff to provide activitiesthat will ensure a smooth transition to
school .Natasha and Jazmine have been busy filling outtransition recordsfor
your child’s new teacher.
Funded only hours
Please note funded only children are now ten hours per week until the end
of August
Hours are as follows
Am session 7.45am- 12. 45 pm
Pm session 1.00pm-6.00pm
Full day 8.00am-6.00pm
Please note late chargeswill be appliedto your accountif your childisnot
pickedup on time.
If your childis fundedonly you can either bring a packed lunch/snack or pay to
have nursery lunch the cost is
Snack £1.00
Dinner £2.00
Please note this should be paidon a weekly basisandposted in the post box
located in the hallway in a namedenvelope.
People who help us month
In augustwe will be learning aboutdifferenttypes of people who help us.
Danielle will be doing an assaultcourse in the garden, the children will be doing
lots of dressing up andwe have a special visitfromAmelie’sdadwho will be
coming in hisuniformandtalking to the children about the police. The fire
brigade will be visitingus andwe have lots more fun activitiesfor the children
to enjoy.
Garden Party
Arrghhhh me heartys!!! This year’s garden party will be held on Saturday
the 18th
July. The children loved participating in pirate day so we have
decided to extend this and use it as our theme. Any donations to make this
an extra special day will be greatly appreciated. We hope to see u all
there.
Twitter and Facebook
Lots of you have joinedour face book and twitter page. We have
been keeping you postedon Facebook however Gemma is still learning
how to use twitter so bear with us!! It’s a great way to keep updated.
Bug Hotel
You may have noticedthe Bug Hotel that has just been built with
help fromSimon fromGarden Needs. We are still waiting for the
tadpoles to lose their tales andturn into frogs keep watching!
Garden
We wouldlike to Thank Granddad Bloomfor bringing us a Water
Butt whichhasbeen collecting all the rain water we have had in the
last couple of weeks. The children have been pouring the water into
the new water pipesusing itfor watering the plants in the garden.
We are also in the processof building a MudKitchen andplanting
some more vegetables.
Policy of the month
Eachmonth we will have a policy of the month. This month is the sun
care policy asthe weather has been hot hot hot!
Sun cream
Now the weather isgetting warmer please can we ask all parents to
bring in sun cream andsun hats. We recommend that the sun cream
isfactor 50 andboth items are labelled withyour child’s name.

Grandparents Month
We lovedGrandparentsmonth. Thanksto all the grandparents who
came in and diddifferentactivities and playedwith the children.
We will be sending out a little giftto say thank you!
Netball Tournament
Time to dust off those old trainers!!
On Saturday 26th
September we will be taking part in a charity
netball event alongside other nursery’s.
Nursery V’s Nursery’s
We need both parents and staff to make up teams.
If you are interested in taking part please let a staff member know
for more info.
Half the money raisedwill be going to cancer researchandthe other
half to the winners chosen charity. There will also be a raffle anda
cake sale. We wouldappreciate any help big or small or come down to
cheer us on.

Coming soon!! Asof September you will be able to text the nursery
phone telling us what your childhas been doing at the weekend. We
know sometimes parents don’t alwayshave time to fill in the weekend
sheets providedwe hope this will be more convenient
However paper weekendsheets can still be used .

providesopportunity to buildon interests andcreate new learning
experiencesfor your child.
Gary The Snail
If the children haven’t already mentioned we have a new friend
in preschool. His name is Gary and he is a giant African snail.
He enjoys spending his days eating cucumber and making slime
trails. The children love Gary and enjoy watching him explore his
environment and holding him.
