JSS University PG Medical & Dental Admissions & Counselling details –
2014
Admission to PG Medical and Dental courses (MD/MS/MDS/PG Diploma) for the academic year
2014-15 at the constituent College of the JSS University (JSS Medical College, Mysore and JSS Dental
College & Hospital, Mysore) will be made based on the Score / Rank obtained in COMED K PGET –
2014 entrance test
Procedure for JSS Medical Admission:
The prospective candidates for admission to PG Medical and Dental courses (MD/MS/MDS/PG
Diploma) for the academic year 2014-15 are required to appear for COMED K PGET – 2014 entrance
test, which is to be held on 02.02.2014.
The candidates are required to apply to the JSS University for admission to PG Medical and Dental
courses, in the prescribed application form, to be downloaded from University website:
www.jssuni.edu.in along with prescribed fee, relevant documents and COMED K PGET – 2014 test
score and Rank. The eligibility criteria for selection are as per MCI/DCI/ JSS University norms.
The last date for receipt of filled application form by the University by post or in person is
20.03.2014.

JSS University will prepare a rank list (JSSU Rank list)based on COMEDKPGET – 2014 entrance test &
rank from among the candidates, who have applied to the PG Medical and Dental courses at JSS
University. Separate rank list will be prepared for Medical and Dental courses and it will be displayed
in the University website as per Schedule.
The counselling and admission for PG Medical and Dental courses will be done at JSS University, as
per the JSSU rank list prepared by the JSS University. The counselling schedule will be uploaded to
the University website: www.jssuni.edu.in

JSS Admission Procedure for PG Medical / Dental Programmes
The Process Involves The Following Stages:
Submission of the application form with COMED-K PGET 2014 Test Score and Rank by post or in
person along with Photographs and other enclosures on or before 20.03.2014 at 5.00 pm.
The application downloaded from the Website of the University should be accompanied by a DD for
Rs. 3,000/-drawn in favour of “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT” payable at Mysore.
Announcement of the JSS University PG Medical and Dental rank list, date of counselling, counselling
process and other related details will be uploaded on the University website www.jssuni.edu.in.
(Dates will be announced on the website)
ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications:
Requisite qualifications for admission to PG Medical / Dental Degree and Diploma courses:
The candidate seeking admission to these courses should have passed Final MBBS / Final BDS
examinations from a college recognized by Medical Council / Dental Council of India, and should
have completed the compulsory rotating internship/would be completing by 30th
of April 2014.
As per the regulations of statutory bodies, as laid out in Post-Graduate regulations 2000 of Medical
Council of India and Dental Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test
for eligibility for admission to Medical & Dental Post-Graduate courses shall be 50 % for all
candidates and the eligibility will be 40% for SC, ST & OBC as per regulation.
Foreign / PIO / NRI students need not appear for PGET –2014 entrance tests. Their admission will be
based on qualifying examination marks as per MCI / DCI norms.
MCI/DCI Norms: Medical and Dental PG Degree and Diploma Courses: Every student, selected for
admission to the Post-Graduate Medical/Dental course in any of the medical institutions in the

country, shall possess recognized MBBS/BDS degree or equivalent qualification and should have
obtained permanent registration from the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any
of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of
the admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.
Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the MCI/DCI may, on payment of the prescribed fee
for the registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post-Graduate training
restricted to the medical college/ institute to which the applicant is admitted for the time being
exclusively for postgraduate studies; provided further, that temporary registration to such foreign
national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered as medical practitioner
in his own country from which the applicant has obtained his/her basic medical qualification and
that his/her degree is recognized by the corresponding medical council or concerned authority. If the
candidate fails to fulfill the relevant eligibility requirements as mentioned above and as prescribed by
MCI / DCI he/she will not be considered eligible for admission for Medical / Dental Postgraduate
Degree and Diploma Courses
Important Note
Attested copies of the following documents have to be enclosed along withthe application form:
1. COMED K - PGET - 2014 Score
2. COMED K - PGET - 2014 Rank card
3. COMED K - PGET - 2014 Test Admission Ticket (TAT)
4. Proof of Date of Birth (SSLC/10thCertificates/Birth certificate).
5. Marks card – MBBS/ BDS – from First to Final year.
6. Attempt Certificate.
7. Internship completion certificate (if not completed, Provisional Completion letter from
Dean/Principal, vide Annexure - III).
8. Provisional/ Permanent Registration of the Medical/Dental Council of India.
9. Degree Certificate.
10. Six recent, identical passport-size colour photographs with name and date.( In addition one copy
of the photo should be pasted on the application form in the space provided)

12. Migration Certificate.
13. Caste / community certificate.(The certificate issued by competent authority forcandidates
claiming lower eligibility under SC / ST/ OBC
14. Proof of MCI/DCI – recognition of the college from where student has completed the course.
15. Self addressed 3 nos. envelops

16. Attested Copy of the Photo identity issued by Central /State Government
(e.g. passport/voters card/pan card/driving license/aadhar)
17.Processing fee of Rs. 3,000/-only by way of DD favouring
“JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSORE, payable at Mysore.
The candidate should write name , address and “Application for admission to PG Medical /
Dental courses” on the back side of the Demand Draft. The completed application with requisite
documents as detailed above along with demand draft for Rs.3000/-, should be enclosed in an
envelope super scribed clearly on the outside of the envelope
“Application for admission to PG Medical / PG Dental courses” and sent to the under
mentioned so as to reach before 5:00 pm on 20.03. 2014, either by speed post, courier or by hand.
