Health Sciences, Bangalore and Dental Council of India. The process of admissions
start in the month of May /June of any year. It is proposed to increase further twenty

recognised by the Medical Council of India.

Internship of one year in an Institution recognised by the Dental Council of India

The Candidate should have obtained permanentRegistration of any State Dental
Council.
No candidate shall be admitted for any postgraduate degree/diploma course
unless the candidate has obtained and produced the eligibility certificate issued
by the University. The following documents are to be submitted at the time of
admission:
1.BDS pass/degree certificate issued by the University.
2. Marks cards of all the university examinations passed BDS Course.
3. Attempt Certificate issued by the Principal.
4. Completion of internship certificate.

BDS COURSE
Education qualifications and other minimum requirements for admission to BDS
Course is as per the recommendations of the Dental Council of India and those
prescribed by Government of Karnataka and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health
Sciences,Karnataka,Bangalore.
Eligibility :
1.).Candidates who have passed the Second pre-University Examination of the Pre-
University Education Board, Karnatakaor equivalentexamination with English as the
core subject and with Physics, Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects with 50% of
marks and above in optional group.
Or
Has passed the two years intermidiate or equivalent course that of,with science
subjects,viz,Physics,Chemisrty and Biology along with English from a recognizes
Indian University or Pre-University Intermediate Board.
Or
B.Sc(Part I ) Examination of an Indian University as laid down by the University
Grants Commission(UGC).Note: A student who has passed the BSc examination with
one or more of the subjects mentioned above would be admitted to the dental course if
he/she has passed by remaining subjects of the Medical Group ( Physics,Chemistry
and Biology) in the Pre-University / Intermediate examination.
Or
The candidate should have secured not less than 50% of marks on the aggregate of the
above subjects in the qualifying or competitive examination conducted on similar lines
as the qualifying examination conducted by a competitive body. For candidates
belonging to Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribes the minimum marks required for
admission shall be 40% in lieu of 50% for general candidates.Provided thata candidate
for admission to the Dental Course must have obtained not less than 50% of the total
marks in English and Science subjects taken together.( i ) At the qualifying
examination (or at a higher examination are made on basis of marks obtained at these
examinations)
Or
( ii ) 50% of the total marks in English and Science subjects taken together at the
competitive entrance examination where such examination are held for
selection.Providedfurther that in respect of candidates belongingto Scheduled Caste /
Scheduled Tribes,the minimum marks required for admission shall be 40% in lieu of
50% for General candidates,where the seats reserved for SC / ST students in any states
cannot be filled for want of requisite number of candidates fulfilling the minimum

basis with SC / ST candidates getting not less than the minimum prescribed pass

2) The candidate who has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or
will complete the age on or before 31st.December of the year of his / her admission to
the 1st. BDS course.
