The document summarizes the short story "Heart of Summer" by Joey Ayala. It describes the main character as a man who was secretly in love with a close friend from his childhood. Years later, his obsession with her grows worse and he sees her image everywhere. One day at the beach, he believes he sees her and confronts the woman, grabbing her despite her saying she is married. When she kicks him to get away, he sinks beneath the waves and drowns, as he never learned to swim. The story explores themes of unrequited love, obsession, and facing reality.

The year 1986 marks a new beginning of a new scene for Filipino writers and artists. It saw the downfall of late President Ferdinand Marcos when he placed the Philippines under martial rule last September 21,1972. This action does not only oppress the writers' right to free expression but also created conditions that made collaboration and cooperation convenient choices for artists' struggling for recognition and survival. Furthermore, the growth of underground writing was created both in urban and in the countryside.

Choose a film and offer an analysis of why it is an important film, and discuss it in terms of film as art. Your response should be more than a summary of the film.
I choose Forrest Gump. This masterpiece captures a movie story about romance, mentally challenged, and heartwarming character who catches the audience’s attention right away. It covers six different eras. The movie Forest Gump covers many social statements such as love, devotion to family, loyalty to others, determination, and a person’s character. These movie touches base on race relations with the black and white in the southern culture. As a viewer, you experience what it was like to live in the southern culture. His mother named him to prove we do things that do not make sense, which is contradictory to the southern culture and ideology. The differences in characters in this film remain very appealing. They shine light on the different aspects of history through the characters. Most critics base their opinion on the theme or entertainment of a film. Forest Gump gives out a positive message. Forest the character is a symbol of “good and bad.” Overall, the special effects of the historic scenes in the movie dramatize the actions of each character and scene.
Imagine you had known Plato and Aristotle and you had a conversation about how we
fall in love. Provide an overview of how Plato would explain falling in love, and then provide an overview of how Aristotle might explain falling in love.
Plato would explain falling in love is having the best kind of friendship that lovers can have for each other. Plato is the most interested in same-sex relationships between an older and a younger man. He believes in the love by those who are more given to the body than to the soul. Plato explained the rising through levels of closeness to wisdom and true beauty come from Carnal attraction. The next step would be the love for the body and soul. The last step of falling in love is not being connected through the body but entirely with being itself. The role where the friend sees her or his duty as the provision of advice, encouragement, and comfort to the other person.
Aristotle is not nearly as interested in erotic love as he is in friendship. Aristotle believe any relationship had to be about something. The relationship between men and women are so natural. He believes men and women come together because they need and want each other. They need each other in order to have children and continue to brighten this world. You should love and understand what the goal of life is with you and your significant other. You should be united with a common goal. Aristotle wants you to wish good for others for their own sake, not yours.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2. About Joey Ayala
Jose Iñigo Homer Lacambra Ayala was born on June 1, 1956,
Camp Philips (now M. Fortich), Bukidnon, Mindanao, the first of
six children of literary-visual artists Jose V. Ayala, Jr. (b. 1932 –d.
2002) andTita Lacambra-Ayala (b. 1931).
Joey’s early musical education was purely oido, listening,
singing along, and attempting to replicate melodies on whatever
musical toys (melodica, recorder, harmonica) were lying about,
courtesy of Mom Tita. She also soundtracked her brood’s day with
a portable turntable playlist that included western classics,
samplers of folk music from faraway countries, songs from stage
productions, sprinklings of jazz, hits from the 50s and 60s… these,
along with radio and, later on, television, movies, and cassettes,
brought a greater and greater variety of music to Joey’s attention.
3. He started writing verse and prose in his early teens. Mom Tita, ever the
editor, would clean up what scribblings she would find lying about and send
them to magazines. They’d get published, and the proceeds from this handful
of early writings went to buy, first, a pair bonggos, then, after seeing what a
neighborhood buddy could do on one, a playable guitar.
Soon Joey was merging words and music. Songs started to come during third
high school age – a mix of teenage darkness, western folk-rock, jazz fusion,
and eastern mysticism – this against a backdrop of Woodstock and Vietnam
War images and the socio-political turmoil of a country under martial law,
declared in September of 1972.
4. Some of his achievements:
• Fr. Neri Satur Award for Environmental Heroism “For promoting
environmental awareness and arts education from ancestral roots to new
artistic routes of musical expression advocating for the protection of the
environment and the conservation of natural resources.” (Awarded by the
National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Department of
Education, April 24, 2009, in observance of Earth Day 2009.)
• Best Musical Score BRUTUS, indie film by Tara Illenberger, awarded by
Cinemalaya, 2008.
• Best Traditional Song, 8th KATHA Music Awards, Songwriter, lyrics of “Pag-
uwi”, 16 November 2002.
• Grand Prize, Metropop Songwriting Contest, lyricist of “Pag-uwi”, music by

Ocean/Sea: The ocean is a symbol of power, strength, life, mystery, hope and
truth. It is also referred to as being the tears, or sorrow, of God. The ocean's
salt symbolizes stability, which is ironic since the characters mind was
anything but stable.
Fire: Fire consumes, warms, and illuminates, but can also bring pain and
death; thus, its symbolic meaning varies wildly, depending upon the context of
its use. It is often the symbol of inspiration.
Rose: In general, a rose is symbolic of love, beauty and/or something of value.
Outside of the realm of literature, roses and their colors are symbolic: red
roses can symbolize passion, while white roses can symbolize purity.

indirectly through his thoughts and actions.
