The systematic and scientific study of the related literature is the life cycle of every dissertation/thesis research proposal and research writing process. It is a form of secondary data collection, data analysis, and data presentation. The content we are dealing with here is textual, and the form of secondary data analysis is a form of phenomenologically qualitatively data analysis.
This slide aims to help and guide students on how to start finding literature review through WOS and SCOPUS. The content is excerpted from various sources available from the internet. This is solely meant for education purpose.
Review of literature is one of the most important steps in the research process.
Literature review helps the researcher to get used to the related material on the study
Gives an overview of the field of inquiry on what has been already said about the topic.
Literature reviews also provide a solid background for a research paper’s investigation.
It also provide the knowledge about the problems faced by the previous researchers’ while studying same topic
In writing the literature review:
your purpose is to convey to your reader what knowledge and ideas have been established on a topic, and what their strengths and weaknesses are.
It is not just a descriptive list of the material available or a set of summaries."

Journal of Global Infectious Diseases (JGID) a peer-reviewed Semiannual international journal is being published under the auspices of the International Infectiologists Network .
The journal’s full text is online at www.jgid.org With the aim of faster and better dissemination of knowledge, we will be publishing articles ‘Ahead of Print’ immediately on acceptance. In addition, the journal would allow free access (Open Access) to its contents, which is likely to attract more readers and citations to articles published in JGID.
\Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with "Uniform requirements for Manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journals" developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (October 2006). The uniform requirements and specific requirement of JGID are summarized below. Before sending a manuscript contributors are requested to check for the latest instructions available. Instructions are also available from the website of the journal (http://www.jgid.org) and from the manuscript submission site (http://www.journalonweb.com/JGID).

As a system for advancing knowledge, science requires that investigators share their findings with the rest of the scientific community. Only if one’s findings are made public can knowledge accumulate as researchers build on, extend, and refine one another’s work. As we discussed in Chapter 1, a defining characteristic of science is that, over the long haul, it is self-correcting; and self-correction can occur only if research findings are widely disseminated. To this end, informing others of the outcome of one’s work is a critical part of the research process.
In this chapter we will examine how researchers distribute their work to other scientists, students, and the general public. Because the effective communication of one’s research nearly always involves writing, much of this chapter will be devoted to scientific writing. We will discuss criteria for good scientific writing and help you improve your own writing skills. We will also examine the guidelines that behavioral researchers use to prepare their research reports, a system of rules known as APA style. To begin, however, we’ll take a look at the three main routes by which behavioral scientists disseminate their research to others.
HOW SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS ARE DISSEMINATED
Researchers disseminate the results of their investigations among themselves in three ways: journal publications, presentations at professional meetings, and personal contact.
Journal Publication
Journal publication is the primary route by which research findings are disseminated to the scientific community. Scientific journals serve not only as a means of communication among researchers (most researchers subscribe to one or more journals in their fields) but also as the basis for the permanent storage of research findings in library collections. Traditionally, journals were published only in printed form, but today many journals are published in digital format as PDF files and on the Internet.
Before most journals will publish a research paper, it must undergo the process of peer review. In peer review, a paper is evaluated by other scientists who have expertise in the topic under investigation. Although various journals use slightly different systems of peer review, the general process is as follows.
1. The author submits copies of his or her paper to the editor of a relevant journal. (The editor’s name and address typically appear on the inside front cover of the journal and on the journal’s Web site.) Although a few journals still ask authors to submit paper copies of their manuscripts, most journals have on-line systems by which authors submit their work by sending word processing files. Authors are permitted to submit a particular piece of work to only one journal at a time.
2. The editor (or an associate editor designated by the editor) then sends a copy of the paper to two or more peer reviewers who are known to be experts in the area of research covered in the paper.

Finding the Right Journal at the Right Time for the Right WorkSaptarshi Ghosh
JournalFinder helps you find journals that could be best suited for publishing your scientific article. Please also consult the journal’s Aims and Scope for further guidance. Ultimately, the Editor will decide on how well your article matches the journal.
There are so many scientifi c journals nowadays, it is understandably challenging for the untrained eye
to be able to discern the good ones from the bad ones. Sometimes it’s hard for the well-trained eye too.
A major shift in scientifi c publishing happened in the last decade with the introduction of open access
publishing model. The model is a superb way to disseminate the knowledge but it has also given an
unfortunate rise of online journals that fall under the category of ‘predatory’ journals
This presentation is about Scholarly Communications and how it works, what are ways through one can identify right journals for publications and also briefly discusses preprints as an alternative publications space for making the research more open and visible.
2. Scope of the Journal: Journal of
Tourism (JoT) is aimed to be a platform
for interdisciplinary researchers in
tourism to communicate their research to
an international audience that include
educators, researchers, and professionals.
The journal shall recognize the
broadness and the interconnectedness of
tourism, both as a phenomenon and as its
realization as an industry. There exists
almost no disciplinary field which
cannot offer some or the other valuable
perspective on tourism and the journal's
contents shall reflect its integrative
approach. Manuscripts shall be accepted
from researchers so long as tourism
studies as an academic field is enriched,
irrespective of their major disciplinary
orientations. The journal shall accept
professional papers as well so long as
such contributions have discernible
theoretical implications. By means its
intellectual exercises, JoT also aims to
heighten awareness of the Asian and the
North American continents as significant
players in the international tourism. The
joint publication of the journal by two
respected universities, one based in the
USA and the other based in India, is the
materialization of an emerging value
statement during our times noted for the
extensive globalization of tourism.
Frequency of Publication: Biannual
Language of Publication: English
Medium of Publication: Electronic and
Print
Manuscript Types: The manuscripts
considered for publication are classified
into four major sections: Primary
Research Articles, Viewpoint Articles,
Reviews, and Forthcoming Events.
Under the first section, research
involving primary data collection and
analysis will be considered. The second
section contains academic debates on
issues of contemporary relevance. Here,
the author is free to bring in personal
viewpoints, provided those are sufficiently
supported by literary evidence or learned
opinion. The third section provides
authors opportunities for publishing
reviews of recently published books and
journals related to tourism. Critical
reviews of academic deliberations held
during events like seminars and
workshops may also be included under
this section. The final section provides
individuals and organizations a forum
publicizing tourism related academic
events to be held in the near future.
Review Process: All the Primary
Research Articles, Viewpoint Articles,
and Reviews submitted for possible
publication in JoT shall go through double
blind peer review provided that they meet
a basic minimum standard in the judgment
of the Managing Editor. Once a
manuscript is submitted, we will try our
best to expedite the review process in 3-4
weeks. Inclusion of an event under the
Forthcoming Events section will be at the
sole discretion of the Managing Editor.
The Journal of Tourism has a panel of
reviewers who review the manuscripts as

Acceptance of a manuscript for
publication in JoT shall make its main
author eligible to become a reviewer in
the future. The reviews will be carried out
keeping in view the generally accepted
academic ethics.

the American Psychological Association
Citation Style. The use of footnotes within
the text is discouraged. If an author wishes
to submit a paper that has been already
prepared in another style, he or she may
do so. However, if the paper is accepted,
the author is fully responsible for retyping
the manuscript in the correct style.
3. Copyright: Submission to JoT means
that the manuscript has not been
published elsewhere. Upon acceptance,
the authors must submit a copyright
transfer form which essentially means
that the copyright of the published work
remains with JoT. However, authors can
freely use their works for classroom
instruction and related purposes. JoT
normally permits authors to re-publish
their works in edited books if prior
permission is taken and proper
acknowledgements made. The
corresponding author is eligible to
receive free of cost one copy of the
printed issue in which his/her manuscript
gets inclusion. All authors will have free
downloadable access to the electronic
