PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: AMAZON
AREA MANAGER – ACY5 AND PHL8
OCT 2012 –
PRES
• Identified and trained AA's for development to grow into roles of increasing demand and responsibility. Advocating for
these AA's led to more AA's being promoted into seasonal roles as well as ambassadors selected to serve on Away
Teams than other sorts.
• Planned for and mitigated gaps in critical roles by coordinating with Human Resources to temporarily shift these AA's
schedules into variable schedules allowing them greater flexibility in covering leadership gaps, IC-QA/Problem Solve,
and TDR gaps. The follow-on effect for this was a smoother transition from NIT and Wrap Down operations into
Sunrise and Morning Sorts by having trucks already off-loaded, belts primed, and Peak problem solve backlog
mitigated by working future volume as much as volume availability allowed.
• Exceeded the SC Controllable CPT performance (Late OB, Missed Scans) of 95% in 2015 to 99.63%. Accomplished this
by partnering with Logistics to decrease mis-staged pallets and catch early on any that were mis-staged, providing
personnel support to the Logistics team, training and developing pallet transporters, and leading the Wrap Down Sort
in their execution of staging remaining pallets.
• Actively pushed mid-year safety goal of building a strong safety culture with a focus on positive recognition of
behaviors. This was accomplished by consistently recognizing AA's with positive AMP feedback, incentives within
facility, and personal one-on-one conversations. This was additionally aided by driving more than 700 Safety Saves
during the month of October 2015, organizing and setting up of the Safety Egg Toss, creation and execution of Safety
Scavenger Hunts and partnering with Safety/AMCARE on ways to proactively reduce safety incidents. The Safety Egg
Toss was further documented into an article and sent to From A to Z Magazine. All were contributing factors to ACY5
achieving a 1 ranking 2015 YTD NA Sort Center SCORECARD.
• Saved ACY5 $29,000 by recommending utilization of Bridgeport Raceway as alternative to viable off-site parking during
PEAK 2015 due to increased staffing. This additionally reduced the commute time to and from the facility against
additional options.
