Amantes
Somoscomo sonlosque se aman.
Al desnudarnosdescubrimosdos
monstruosos desconocidosque se estrechan
a tientas, cicatricesconque el rencoroso
deseoseñalaalosque sindescansose aman:
El tedio,lasospechaque invencible nosata
ensu red,como enla faltados dioses
adúlteros.
Enamoradoscomo doslocos, dos astros
sanguinarios,dosdinastías que hambrientas
se disputanunreino, queremosserjusticia,
nos acechamosferoces, nosengañamos,nos
inferimoslasvilesinjurias conque el cielo
afrentaa losque se aman.
Sólopara que mil vecesnosincendie el
abrazo que enel mundosonlos que se aman
mil vecesmorimoscadadía.
Lovers
We are the oneswholove eachother.
Whenwe undress,we discovertwo
monstrous strangerswhogrope, scarswith
whichthe spiteful desire pointstothose who
relentlesslylove eachother:
The tedium, the suspicionthatinvincible ties
us inhisnet,as in the absence of two
adulterousgods.
In love like two insanes, twocruel stars, two
dynasties how starvingtheydispute a
kingdom, we wanttobe justice,we stalk
fierce, we deceive ourselves,we inferthe
despicable insultswithwhichheaven
affronts those wholove eachother.
Justso that a thousandtimeswe catch fire
the embrace inthe worldare those wholove
each other,a thousandtimeswe die every
day.
