- 1. 16 December 2015 Jon Nock, Network Configuration Manager, CoSocius Reference: Shane Ellis It is a privilege to provide a reference of recommendation for Shane Ellis. Although Shane was primarily contracted to the server hosting team at CoSocius it was quickly apparent that he was well skilled to cross into data centre network provision as resources required. I have worked with Shane in our data centre lan environment for over 18 months and have been responsible for change approval of Shane's network configurations. He has proved proficient at all layer 2 configuration such as MTU sizing, vlans, switch ports, 802.1q trunks and etherchannel. He has configured services on our data centre core 6509 vss switches, Nexus 5ks and 2k fex including the configuration, patching and deployment of additional Nexus 2ks and configuration of new secure vlans for a hosted service. Shane has also proved useful with new lan switch builds for my none technical colleagues to deploy to site. Recently Shane has led research into reoccurring issues with cfs locks and switch profile problems in our Nexus 5k environment and formulated a resolution path. I have not had opportunity for Shane's involvement in any layer 3 networking but would be confident that Shane's professionalism, attitude and motivation any requirement for layer 3 work wouldn't present any significant difficulties. I have no doubt Shane's knowledge, integrity, dedication, commitment and versatility would be an asset to any organisation.
