HPS Network
1. Responsible for network team ticket queue.
F5 Big IP 4200 load balancer tickets (including creating/editing VIPs, pools, nodes, snats, and iRules.
Firewall tickets on Cisco ASA 5555-Xs such as adding/editing object groups, ACLs on different contexts.
Troubleshoot firewall connectivity issues.
Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) connectivity tickets. Configure profiles, posture, identities, troubleshoot
blocking issues.
All connectivity issues from local users unable to connect to local HPS network to internet or local intranet
connectivity issues.
BlueCoat Proxy SG 900 connectivity issues such as incorrectly blocked/categorized sites, transparent proxy
authentication issues, internet latency issues. Upgraded from BlueCoat Proxy SG 600 to 900.
Worked with 3rd party vendor adding/moving any local network drop from access closet to cube or office.
All DNS issues. Internal DNS is controlled by BlueCat appliance. Add/edit any DNS record, create new sub-
domains, troubleshoot any DNS issue. External DNS is with AT&T.
Maintain, monitor, and upgrade enterprise size data network (6000+ users, 300 devices). Data center is mainly
Cisco equipment. Nexus 7k, Nexus 5k, Nexus 2k, ASA 5555, 2960X, 3945, 4431, and 3850 .
Migrated core network switches from Catalyst 3750 to two Nexus 7009. Worked with team created all new
VPCs, VRFs, and VLANs in order to successfully migrate entire network.
Rebuilt wireless network with Cisco 5508 Wireless Controller. Prior to upgrade there where all autonomous
WAPs. Ran new cable needed, replaced autonomous WAPs with Cisco Aironet 2702i controller-based
WAPs. Configured clean-air and cleaned up most wireless interference issues.
Help maintain and troubleshoot BlueCoat proxy server and BlueCat DNS.
Helped troubleshoot and maintain WAN. We have a series or circuits and sonnet rings connecting all remote
offices. Running OSPF and BGP.
Migrated all access closet switches from Cisco 2960 with stacked Cisco 2960 X. This was one of my first
major projects. We consolidated from roughly 45 separate Cisco 2960 across 3 floors and 9 access switches to
9 2960X stacks of about 5 switches each. Learned a lot about layer 2 issues during upgrade (VTP VLAN and
ISE issues). Had several thin clients getting blocked by ISE after upgrade. Had to work with Cisco to
troubleshoot authentication method issue.
Use different tools to monitor data network such as Netbrain, Solarwinds(NPM & NTA), Cattools, and
Network Observer.
Traveled to Westerville Oh to migrate all network and server equipment to new office location. Office had
two stacks of Cisco 3750, one Cisco 3945, 4 WAPs ( that we migrated over to connect with main office
wireless network with WLC), Cisco 2960 for wireless, and a few servers.
Traveled to Boulder Co for DR test. I was boots on ground for team responsible for bringing up brand new
DR network. One Nexus 5K, one F5 Big IP 4200, one BlueCoat 600, one BlueCat DNS appliance, two Cisco
ASA 5555 firewalls, two Cisco 6296, and several Cisco UCS.
