Extinct animals
MEGALODON Megalodons are said to have existed over 20 through 2 millions years ago. They were extremely huge about 52.1 feet long.
Dodo birds Dodo birds were often hunted because they were a nice source of food for humans.
Archaeopteryx The  Archaeopteryx was said to be about 1.6 feet tall. It lived around 150–155 million years ago.
Japanese sea lion  The Japanese sea lion went extinct around the 1950’s which was not too long ago. This was a terrible loss and we will miss our lovely friend the Japanese sea lion always.
Great Auk This majestic bird has been extinct since the 19 th  century. They where about 30 inches tall and weighed maybe 11 pounds. Eventually they were hunted to extinction.
Great Bustard The great bustard went extinct in 1967.   It used to roam the lands of Europe and Asia.
Guam flying fox The Guam flying fox fell to earth’s cruel will, due to hunting and habitat change.
Quagga The Quagga was a subspecies of zebra which died out in the late 1800’s.
ENDANGERED SPECIES
American Burying Beetle The American burying beetle likes to live in lands of which are undisturbed by humans.
Piping plover  Piping plovers mainly live on beaches and feed off worms, insects, and crustaceans.
Leatherback sea turtle They can grow to be 6 and a half feet and weigh up to 2000 pounds.
Shortnose Sturgeon  They are found in fast-moving freshwater environments. This species can live from 30-67 years of age.
Sei Whale There are around only 54,000 Sei whales left in the world today because of whaling. 
Fender's Blue Butterfly  The Fender's Blue Butterfly’s habitat has been developed for farmland so it has no where to live now.  
Marquesan Kingfisher   This lovely kingfisher is threatened by the habitat loss of  French Polynesia .
California Condor The California condor is endangered because of poaching, lead poisoning, and habitat destruction.
