This posting is for a research assistant/associate internship with a Jordanian nonprofit organization called SAIB. The 2-3 month internship involves conducting research in a refugee camp in Jordan to study the relationship between physical space and gender norms. The research aims to identify gendered spaces and behaviors and will inform redesigning some housing units to potentially shift dynamics. The intern will assist with fieldwork like observations and interviews, data analysis, and report writing to study how redefining spaces may impact social and cultural norms. The goal of the research is to design interventions to change behaviors and attachments people develop to particular locations.
